Once they showed those scenes of MJ dancing in those red pants, I thought " mjscarousal, alphastreet and QueenofPurple are going to lose their damn minds."

LOL I literally lost my voice because I was screaming the whole time.
I lost my mind from beginning to end! Spike Lee did an amazing job! MJ was so fine! I love how Spike played bits and pieces of Michael's voice over various photos to give the illusion that he was being interview.

been over a week since the OTW documentary was aired, it's receiving great reviews like I already knew it was going to heading into it, there wasn't even a question about it. I'm sure the ratings were sky high......
all the feel good, all the good vibe thats' permeating throughotu the land, for THIS should have been the Michael Jackson for the world to have witnessed since the time of that album up until the present day.....this Michael Jackson would have aged in grace and favor, this Michael Jackson would have been beloved w/out controversy, I'm so sure of it, becaue the universe was setting the stage for it
zero controversy, zero beef between fans back then, and when I say zero beef, that's exactly what it was, there was no arguments, no back biting, no agenda, it was the way it should have been, during that time it WAS really about the music
but when watching this...we saw about as much of the Triumph Tour we are going to get, high probability we'll never get to see that show in its entirety, I think the family is gonna hold on to it as a personal keepsake, to keep and control the last remaining memory of who their son, brother, uncle once was before opportunists came knocking at the door after Thriller and turned his world upside down, bringing for the the madness.......when it all came crashing down at the drop of a hat
instead of a handful of people, everyone should be upset about what happened but that's not ever going to be
how in the world did it all come down to what it all came down to, when it never should have been
for a man who reached his potential was denied the opportunity to realize his promise, and that's the greatest tragedy of all of this, and Michael Jackson saw this and realized it by the mid 90s when he released his album HISTORY for his lyrical content spoke to that reality and made him and angry person as his message was sidetracked, and he was definitely led estray, and he made that crystal clear in Stranger in Moscow when he said "Here abandonned in my fame, Armageddon of the brain, KGB be stalkin me, take my name and just let me be", and that's exactly what was taking his name, everything......................he talks about it to in Scream "yall keep changing the rules, I keep playing the game, I can't take it much longer, I think I may go insane", for he acknowledged he played the game but was at that point losing...............and throughout the entire song Will You Be There, acknowledging that he was caught up in the grips of this beast called the Pop Ascension........
after all these years of following this entertainer, even after watching this documentary last week, the last remaining element that the world is missing, is what it needs most, so society, for those who follow music to the core, can begin picking up the piece and rebuilding culture and the music back up, the one thing missing is THE TRUTH, cause we ain't got it yet, far from it

Nobody going to find a truth in a pop star of all things. If others aren't upset, it's cause they weren't around or not fans yet or just don't get it and never will cause of white privlege. Or they simply don't overthink it and enjoy his music and his character without being obsessive about it, which is how I love to remember him by.
Hey what's mj wearing in the concert clips around his waist? Is that for his back or something?

and that's the whole problem that caused this greatest of tragedies
not white people as a whole, there have always been good white people
but the system of racism, what white privilege was born out of is what turned the wheel on its axis and changed everything for the worse
but in regards to the truth, truth can always be found for those who are willing to fully seek it, because it was always there
that's the last remaining remnant to this story [Edited 2/14/16 6:14am]

that's the last remaining remnant to this story Yep I definitely meant systemically how the industry was set up. You keep saying things went downhill from thriller, I wonder if it was from not winning deserving Grammys during off the wall is where it began. His only problem was he worked too hard and kicked ass like the boss he was but that public and people pleasing traits is what killed him ultimately. I know it's Murray and it's horrifying and I'm not blaming him in anyway saying this but we all know he shouldn't have wanted to tour again, he himself knew it in 2003, we all did. I wish he was still here but is probably getting the peace he never did here. [Edited 2/14/16 6:19am]

Michael Jackson was already destroyed way before Dr. Murray entered the picture
Murray is the chosen scapegoat for a systematic aggression whose genesis can be traced back to 1987, if it had not been Murray at the end, it would have been another doctor who would have been scapegoated
but not being awarded the Grammy for OTW is a contributing factor for the choice he ultimately made for himself and how he felt he was slighted because of his blackness but ironically, R&B music and the distinction of it was more influential that what it was given credit for, but POP and top 40 radio always had the position to dictate ultimately who would be giving the platform to achieve "mainstream" succcess, where through subtle suggestion, the true identity was asked to be compromised because the system involved never wanted to acknowledge culture when it came to the issue of race
the core root problem has never been discussed, because it's roots can be traced way before the Jackson Five started performing
all I ever did as a fan, more importantly as a human being is see this situation for exactly what it is, take notes of it all, to gain full understanding of how this music industry truly operates, especially since the late 80s to where we now don't have a true industry anymore
but hopefully, when the story is told in the grand scheme the way that it needs to be told, then that should motivate society to make sure nothing like this ever happens again, original fans, former fans, current fans, new fans, because if we don't, this inded will happen again to someone else and will be even more abrasive
thats' basically where I'm at now w/all this

I don't think it can be this bad again in music and there is so much social media out there not so much in mjs time. Having said that, I'm curious about your take on Beyoncé right now.

overexposure has driven her into a quagmire
overexposure is something MJ did not do, he always knew when to pull back and when to reappear
he understood that before he became a solo artist [Edited 2/14/16 9:41am]

I'm missing Mike so terribly. I've been in a MJ binge watching J5, Jacksons and Mike's solo stuff this past week and out of nowhere, I keep catching myself bawling my eyes out. I missed the Off the wall special. Hopefully someone streams it online although I feel like I'll be crying again if I watch it. Lols. ~Time Spent Learning is a Time Never Wasted~

Big hug your way. I watched the special and loved it. Remembered the days of being so hooked on that 70s early 80s mj period and how much joy that brought me in my teens upon discovery/rediscovery. I hate that the jscksons are underrated for that period and al so grateful I caught their casino tour few years back I feel I may get emotional soon from holding it in right now [Edited 2/15/16 18:19pm]

I am a huge Stevie fan, and even though his last album was in 2005, I have hundreds of live tracks, featured songs, etc that I have recorded through the years since then. Whenever Stevie shows up, people stand and clap. MJ deserved a twilight era too. MJ deserved that too. But he did write a manifesto in his late-teens/early/twenties that said he'd give no interviews and surpass his mentors. He succeeded. MJ would not be MJ if he hadn't been... MJ.
