Jeff Beck releasing first-ever book in Spring 2016 Guitar hero Jeff Beck has signed a book deal with Genesis Publishing and his first-ever book called BECK 01 is set for release in March, 2016. Pre-orders for hand-made copies personally signed by the British guitar legend sold out rapidly. Regular pre-orders have sold quite well also. Sources say the two time inductee and 8 time Grammy winner will be touring in 2016 to celebrate 50 years as a solo artist. He first got international acclaim in 1965 when he replace Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds. He was booted from The Yardbirds in the Fall of 1966 after a brief dual guitar situation in the group with Jimmy Page. After Beck's departure, Page handled guitar by himself and eventually formed Led Zeppelin which in many ways was patterned after The Jeff Beck Group, which at the time had Rod Stewart on vocals and Ron Wood on bass guitar. Beck has travelled the musical highways of blues, pop, rock, funk, jazz fusion and techno. His latest project is LIVE + and it features ex-Prince bassist Rhonda Smith (she has been with him since 2010), drummer Jonathan Joseph, MIDI guitarist Nicolas Meier, and ex-Wet Willie vocalist/harmonica player Jimmy Hall. They also have a dvd/blu-ray out called LIVE IN TOKYO. Music Royalty in Motion | |
