Oh my God!!! I've been listening to this song non-stop since yesterday! How uncanny is that?? Why didn't you post here that you were looking for this song? I've had it on CD for years! Isn't it majestic and magical? Takes me away everytime I here it. The vocals, drums, and bass are QUITE tight!! Do you have it on CD too or on mp3?

Well I own Deon Estus CD "Spell" and some of the 12"s of this CD because of the involvement of Levi Seacer, the Steeles, Ricky Peterson and David Z. I didn't listen to it too often I must admit, maybe I should give it another listen...
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

You should. I remember hearing the full CD a while ago, and it wasn't too shabby, but I only have Heaven Help Me on CD as part of a compilation that I've had for a while. And that's the standout track.

I love this song! I think it was written and produced by George too (he sings backup vocals too).I think George Michael should have written and produced songs for more artists, cause this song is fantastic.

I found this song a couple of months back after seeing it on a George Michael discgraphy. I thought it must be a new track, though - I had no idea it's been out for 13 years (at least) - I saw someone mentioned 1989 - is that when it was released? So between Faith and LWP Vol. 1?

TheJoker

Hell yes I am a fan! smile
The first time I heard "Heaven Help Me" was as a RealAudio download from a GM fan website.

The quality wasn't excellent, but I instantly fell in love with the song. When I first heard it, I thought it was George's own track, with him on lead vocals and everything.

It was only afterwards when I'd done some investigating that I found it was Deon Estus, Michael's bass player/band leader during Wham! and his first 2 solo projects.

This song was written in 1986 by Deon & George. It's a lovely track with wonderful musicianship.
I believe George also contributed backing vocals to another track on Deon's album (am I mistaken?) but "Heaven Help Me" was the only one on which he shares credit as a songwriter.

It was released in '88, I'm pretty sure. I also seem to remember Deon being in the group Brainstorm, mainly known for their BEAUTIFUL song "This Must Be Heaven".

I just got this song off Kazaa. Wonderful tracks. It was painful for me when it came out though, because I had a crush on this guy and it would make me think of him lol
