I didn't know David Allen Grier could sing. They are all doing a .great job and the song You can't Win by the scarecrow just kept making me picture MJ singing that part sad Where's Toto??? biggrin

David is clasically trained in theater from Yale school of drama. HE did a lot of singing on In Living Color. lol

I didn't know his history and I don't remenber him singing at all in
In Living Color..Do you remember any skits when he did??

Plenty of skits. Cephus & Reesie, Calhoun Tubbs and various others.

both the DVD and CAST RECORDING will be available to purchase for the holidays.

In case you missed it or care to ease on down the road again, NBC said this morning that it will air an encore of The Wiz Live! fron 8-11 PM on Saturday, December 19.

NBC obviously want to get those shining The Wiz Live!numbers out fast and there’s another set of them now. The 2-hour and 45-minute live performance of the Tony Award winning musical has seen a small bump up of 3% from its earlier demo results to 3.4/11. Viewershipwise, the show has gone up 3.2% from 11.14 million to 11.5 million. There will be “official nationals” still to come but expect a very small shift in the results if any at all at this point.

UPDATE, 8:36 AM: Now the fast nationals are coming in and it’s looking very good for NBC’s The Wiz Live! (3.3/11) in the key demo and total viewers with 11.14 million watching last night. While adjustments could occur more than usual due to the live nature of the Neil Meron- and Craig Zadan-produced version of the 1975 Tony winner, The Wiz Live! is continuing to soar ahead of last year’s Peter Pan Live!

Nick Ashford was someone I greatly admired, had the honor of knowing, and was the real-life inspiration for Cowboy Curtis' hair. RIP Nick. - Pee Wee Herman

Absolutely LOVED it! Was most impressed with Neyo's solo "We Got It". It was amazing! David Allen Greer was great also. It is major stressful doing a live musical play. They ALL pulled it off. Shanice was great for her first time. Even though I wasn't impressed with her voice. But for her age she was awesome! Also loved Fatima's dance sequences! She did the "DreamGirls" sequences which I worked on.

You ain't right!!!

I saw bits 'n pieces of it (didn't have the foresight to DVR it).

shrug

What I did see was underwhelming. It was good, but in my mind I was expecting something greater. I can't explain it.

prince should have submmited his AMAZING new cut "Big City" for the production. It would have fitted perfectly!
