Your favourite CHRISTMAS SONGS Ok so, with less than a month to go til Christmas, I'm suddenly finding myself feeling very Christmassy. So what better way to get into the festive mood than listening to Christmas songs. There are all sorts of Christmas songs. Happy, sad, nostalgic and of course, religious. But what is, in your mind, the best Christmas song? Feel free to post more than one if you are having trouble narrowing it down. I know I will :-) When I think of Christmas songs, the one that always comes to mind is Last Christmas by Wham. A brilliant song in many ways. George Michael's vocals on that song shouldnt be underestimated. I heard him do it live and my god, that man can sing! Not only that but it's also a reminder that heartbreak can happen anytime, and it's no less painful for happening at Christmas.

Have you heard that one? I had a friend who collects weird Christmas music and that's how I got to hear a lot of that stuff. I remember seeing a clip with that title and the South Park characters in it. Is that the one your talking about?

Is that the one your talking about? I don't think so, no. I'm sure it's easy enough to find. It's very funny though. Another one that's similar to that is a song by an Australian guy called Kevin Bloody Wilson. Can't remember the name of the song but apparently it's well known. My cousin (who's from Oz) played it for me. Look for that one though but be warned, there's a lot of cussing in it.

Elvis Presley's Blue Christmas. Another classic but I personally think Shakin' Stevens' cover is the better version of it.

Oh, the male version is by James Taylor, who was Joni's boyfriend when she wrote "River"'s originating album, Blue.

The best new Christmas album I heard come out this decade is Tracey Thorn's Tinsel And Lights from 2012, swear to GOD. I would not steer you wrong, orgers.

Tracy Thorn covered "River" for her Christmas album so she knows what's up.
Yeah! Anyway... I prefer her original as well.
