very sad to hear about this.

obviously an EXCELLENT trumpet player & she "brought the hype" too for many of Sly's best songs.

heaven continues to get FUNKIER & FUNKIER..

Cynthia's musical legacy will certainly live on.

I will now play some Sly/Family Stone jams..

I'll see you tonight..

R.I.P. to one of my musical she-roes. Totally taken aback by the news after I spoke her up and the Family Stone to my sister recently. I saw the current version of the band perform in 2013 at a summer festival and they threw DOWN. At the end of the show I managed to shake her hand as the rest of the audience rushed to the front of the stage to greet and get autographs from her, Jerry Martini and Gregg Errico. Prayers go out to her family.

Guess I'll be listening to "St. James Infirmary" today...

Just saw her and the Family Stone this past spring. Great show and a lotta fun- much better than I expected. Her daughter (by Sly) handled most of the lead vocals and, observing them afterwards, Cynthia, her daughter, and Jerry M. just seemed to be enjoying the attention, the gigs, and each other's company.

That's sad. sad She's the mother of one of Sly's children, isn't she? I saw here play with both Prince & Larry and Sly's eh...noteworthy...return to the stage in 2007. Thank U and Dance to the music in heaven, lady. pray

What beautiful lady Cynthia Robinson was! I met her in 1998 in Vegas when she, Jerry Martini and Larry Graham were playing with Prince. So thankful for that memory. Hands down, my favorite band of all time is Sly And The Family Stone. Thank you Cynthia! All the squares go home!

Her trumpet solo on 'Runnin Away' is one of the most beautiful moments on the band's biggest masterpiece.

RIP to her
