Agreed. Good and balanced participation from Luke as well.
Don't know if it's been suggested here, but Luke really deserves his own Unsung. Didn't realize how much there was to his career until watching the H-Town Unsung and then, a few hours later, catching the 30-For-30 on ESPN about Univ. of Miami back in the day.
But yeah, H-Town's was a good Unsung. Luke's Unsung would have to be Uncut! PRINCE: Always and Forever

that was my first thought after seeing the thread title...if they had another halfway decent song besides 'knocking the boots', its a mystery to most of the civilized world...

Man, I already done laid down how many Hits they had compared to Lakeside, the most recent Unsung artist and pretty sure they had more hits then this Wednesday's feature, Jennifer Holiday STOP IT!!!!! PRINCE: Always and Forever

That may be true but I can understand how dude may have thought that. That was by far their most recognizable song although I hated it. I like Part Time Lover but it could have easily passed for a Jodeci song. Most of their hits as the charts goes were prisoner of the moment. Unless you're a die hard fan their catalog isn't that memorable. Hell I forgot about Emotions until you bought it up. They had an interesting episode but when you talk about acts from the 90's H Town is down on the totem poll compared to other acts from the 90's. Don't laugh at my funk

But other than Jodeci, B2M and maybe BLACKstreet, all the other early-mid 90s r&b groups are at the same level. What's the difference between H-Town and Shai, Silk, freaking Intro or Riff lol. Popularity especially when it comes to Silk. I won't even get started on the female acts like TLC, SWV, and EnVogue. Intro with 2 albums really? Who the hell is Riff? Don't laugh at my funk

How about Az Yet? They even did a song with Peter Cetera You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I gotcha. I would even throw the Tonies(even though they debut 1988), Mint Condition, and All 4 One(for their crossover appeal). I'm not dissing H Town but they are an afterthought compared to the other male groups of that time. Don't laugh at my funk

They're Hitmakers along the lines of Silk, Shai, Next, Color Me Badd, Hi Five, Solo, ect according to this pyramid.
You're right about TTT and Mint Condition, but I didn't include them, because they're actual bands not groups. But the pyramid included them, lol.

I'm surprised Silk wasn't rated higher in that pyramid. They should have been in the All Stars category considering their debut album was double platinum with 3 top 5 singles and the follow ups were gold and platinum respectively. Don't laugh at my funk

Interesting list. FYI:
ProFyle was produced by Teedy Riley and has some very good material. Soultry has some joints produced by Mint Codition and also has som good material. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

Black Men United is like USA For Africa & Band Aid. They're not real groups. So I don't know why they're on that list, and as a one hit wonder at that. BMU never recorded anything else. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
