What a great selection of artists. This a great show. Kashif, Chante Moore, Jennifer Holliday and Nate Dogg - im there. “It means finding the very human narrative of a man navigating between idealism and pragmatism, faith and politics, non- violence, the pitfalls of acclaim as the perils of rejection” - Lesley Hazleton on the first Muslim, the prophet.

Most interesting line-up in a long while. Although I'm not sure who Nate Dog is. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

Ok- I'm going to stop pushing for a "Bill Withers" Unsung and that's ok. The NY Times did an interesting profile piece on him this past weekend.
Otherwise the lineup looks strong except for Kashif. Since this past season caught me off-guard with really interesting Unsungs on Yarborough and Peoples and Force MDs, I'm more than willing to go into the Kashif episode with an open mind devoid of expectations.

Interesting lineup. I read several years ago where some of the original
members of the Sunshine Band are deceased. Interesting that Chante sung backup for Toni Braxton since Chante debut album Came out before Toni's hit debut album. [Edited 9/24/15 10:45am] Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

The Kashif one I understand. He really is Unsung. The H-Town one has me on the fence. But this past season was really strong. [Edited 9/24/15 20:36pm]

I'm always excited to watch any Unsung stories, however in my honest opinion, it's too early for people like Chante Moore to be featured. I feel it should be artists from the 80s and further back, only.

Since he did a documentary a few years ago called Still Bill, there probably isn't a reason to do this show You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

There a relatively new docu out about him called 'bill' or 'simply bill'. I think it's a HBO doc...but I'm not sure. It was very I sightful and includes new interview form around 5 or less years ago. Oops...it's called Still Bill. It's currently streaming on Hulu. [Edited 9/25/15 17:06pm]
