I normally wouldn't mind but it was only when I read it back I realised I had written "I love me some Mint Condoms" LOL. But back on topic, really looking forward to this. I was only listening to their first album this morning in the car.

I was hoping that they would drop a 25th Anniversary CD of songs that have not been released so far.

dayum. thought it was a regular album. not a fan of christmas joints. those things must REALLY sell cause it seems urrrbody eventually does one. stokely's voice will breathe new life into those tracks. love the name of the album

The Healing Season contains 5 original songs including "1st Snowfall", "Not What I Wanted", "1 Brand Name" and the title cut.

"From the Mint Factory" is my number one favorite, followed by "Definition of a Band" and "7". They are such a powerhouse band though that there are gems on each album. Oh and they are a MUST SEE live. I've seen them probably 4 times live within the past 4-5 years.

I'm definitely going to check out this new holiday album though.

I've heard the whole version of the single Healing Season on a site called Frequency News radio.

I've heard snippets of Little Drummer Boy. If yall haven't heard this yet you're in for

a treat. Cough ahem a little Go Go.

I've also heard a snippet of Lonely Christmas which is funky too.

I too look forward to picking this up on Friday. This just might be the funkiest Xmas cd ever.

Life's Aquarium may be their most underrated. I think that one is the band's best songwriting

Agreed.

MInt Condition fell off after Toni Braxton's husband, Keri Lewis left..

but their first 3 albums were amazing...especially "From The Mint Factory", which is one of the most underrated and overlooked albums in R&B history...it somehow got lost in the hiphop era (1993)...but MAN i wore that joint out...

I just heard the snippets myself and agree with you 100%. When I first read your comment about "Lonely Christmas"...I thought it was the Prince remake of "Another Lonely Christmas". But I see that it's definitely not and extremely different. I like it. I also like their version of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". Traditionally the way it's sung, you better not be depressed because you'll be ready to jump off a cliff with tears in your eyes, but their version is really funky, something you put on when you are having a few folks over to chill with wine and laughter.

I like how the album is not another rendition of classic Christmas medley's sung in the same way it's been sung for years and years, I mean if I want to listen to my classic Christmas songs, I'll put on my Sinatra Christmas and Rat Pack Christmas cd's. I'm just absolutely loving that they put their own spin on it and love when artists do this. Similar concept that Ledisi did a few years back when she released "It's Christmas" that I pull out every November.
