I highly doubt that's what Adele aspires to be. |

It'll be interesting to see if 25 can continue selling well into next year. Second week sales will be interesting...how big of a drop does she experience? |

You know, I was in Costco over the weekend. Costco used to have a whole section of CDs, but it has been pared down to just a few DVDs and games. EXCEPT -- The new Adele CD. So, her sales may continue to be an exception as well, if the availability of it (book stores, coffee shop counters) makes it EASIEST to pick up. |

I noticed the same thing at a local Walmart. |

I don't know but maybe they don't remember the many excellent white female pop singers we had back in the day.
Did anybody notice that over half the sales of the album were physical copies? The suits should take note that people will actually go out and buy a product they believe is worth buying.

One thing that should also be noted, is that there was no difference in the official release dates between digital, CD, and *******VINYL******** which seems to normally be released months after the fact. I saw Adele on record shelves Friday, November 20th! |

Maybe a wake up call for them.

Agree.
Also, a lot of these black soul artists would sell a lot more if black people would go out and support these artists. Stop relying on the media and other people to do it. I am happy for Adele's success. I think she earned it fair and square. |

How frustrating it has been for people who wanted a CD but could only buy it on iTunes... ended up bootlegging it. Same with anyone waiting for vinyl. |

My reasoning for the huge album sales is because shes an artist teens and adults can both like and purchase her albums...back in the 80s their were several artists than appealed to adults as well as teens Micheal Jackson,Huey Lewis,Phil Collins and the list goes on and on...we really havent that in years..so combined with that and some decent songs and a good voice the public was hungry |

She does not make R&B or black music. Why do people keep saying this? Apparently being white and having a great singing voice is enough to qualify as a vulture of black culture now. Adele doesn't strike me as a blue-eyed soul singer like so many claim. |

Michael Jackson only appealed to all age groups up until 1986/87. After that, he appealed mainly to young kids in the 7th grade or lower. Young white women who are the cornerstone of pop music didn't want anything to do with Jackson from Bad onward, except in Europe and Asia. |

Fresh air?
What is she doing that Janet, Jasmine Sullivan, Lalah Hathaway, ledisi, Ndambi, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, and a host of others isn't doing? FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent. |

A breath of fresh air =/= innovation, it means different and nothing more.
The question should be "What is she doing that Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and a host of others aren't doing?" |
