Not sure how truly underrated it is, but I don't hear too many people these days talking about "Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You)." I think that song is just exquisite. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
μηδὲν ὅλως σὺ λυποῦ πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶ τὸ ζῆν τὸ τέλος ὁ χρόνος ἀπαιτεῖ.”

That song is one of the many jewels in Stevie Wonder's crown. Glad to see some appreciation for it here. That intro is gorgeous. In fact so many parts disparate parts woven into such a flawless musical tapestry. I know what I need to listen to again. Thanks for the reminder of how stunning Stevie was back in the day. My definition of musicality, watch Stevie playing the drums.

I love Donny Hathaway's cover too: "Not everything that is faced can be changed; but nothing can be changed until it is faced." - James Baldwin

Below are a few of Stevie's loveliest ballads that have either never been heard or have wrongly fallen into obscurity: "Ms. and Mr. Little Ones"

Nell Carter: "Anything The Black Folks did Last Year"

NOT TRYING TO THREAD JACK BUT.... - As I revisited a few forgotten gems from Stevie, I came across this perfect rendition of Sting's "Fragile". He nailed the hell out of this song. Two of my favorite songwriters sharing the stage. Sting looks like a proud papa. Plus, the harmonica solo was steller too. -

I really like "Sunshine In Their Eyes" from 1971's Where I'm Coming From. The final track after "Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer". I can't even find a Youtube of it. That's underrated!

I can just melt to Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You). Its just perfect... I love the segue between the songs too, pure gold. My favorite Stevie Ballad is I Believe When I Fall In Love with a close second being Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yester-Day.

I Believe is beautiful but how hard i'd wish he have extended that rock part at the end "let's just fall in love". Those adlibs when he sings in the background, like a cryin for help "answer my prayyyyersss" it is just eargasmic.

All In Love Is Fair - By far one of the more underrated tracks.

For some reason i don't love it, perhaps it's because i do not understand what is all about do not undrstad the lyrics It's about someone bringing him tears of joy. Simple. And the lyrics are brilliant, if you listen to them, especially the first verse. What I've always thought was neat was how Joy Inside My Tears is a happy song that sounds sad, and Another Star is a sad song that sounds happy. [Edited 10/2/15 17:29pm] [Edited 10/2/15 22:52pm]

Surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet
"You & I" with the therminesque synth is one of Stevie's best ballads IMO.
Another underrated Stevie ballad not yet mentioned
Think this one is on one of the Motown sings Motown sets or the Stevie iTunes set

My Love (with Julio Iglesias) / Keep Our Love Alive You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

I like the O'Bryan version better You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton
