Always thought Kashif was an incredible producer. A singer? Not so much. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.! All you haters will see!" - Kitbradley

I always thought he was a competent singer but I was more into him as a songwriter and producer (Melba Moore, Evelyn King, George Benson etc.)

Talk about a phoenix rising from the ashes. Who knew he had such a rough childhood. God love him.

SoulAlive said: I love this slow jam: "Are You The Woman?" by Kashif (1985) Wow didn't realize this one went back to 85. I wás thinking 88 or 89. I used to like this one and Stone Love. I'm more familiar with him as a songwriter and producer. I have to catch this episode and revisit his solo stuff. Didn't like the Love Changes remake so much. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

LOVE ME some Kashif! Dude CREATED the original computerized bassline! If I'm not mistaken, his first actual production was Melba Moore's "Take My Love" in 1981 from her "What A Woman Needs" album. He DID come out of B.T. Express tho ("Energy To Burn" and "Function At The Junction" albums.) < Not sure if he was a member for BOTH albums or only ETB. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

OOPS! Don't know what just happened, but in answer 2 your question, he's famous for having invented the music software that created the first computerized bassline. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

One could only wonder if BT Express would have allowed Kashif to express the creativity he wanted for the band it could have extended the band's success longer competing with the likes of the S.O.S Band, Zapp, Barkays, Cameo, etc. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

I bet,a few after they fired him, they were pissed to see him having all that success

Lesson learned about "firing the young guy"! B.T. Express would have already endured the worst of his behavior by then, whatever it was. It just sounds like Kashif was very ambitious and outgrew the group.
