new NEON INDIAN album sounds a lot like prince. hey all. just thought i would let you know about the release of an album that hasn't been getting too much attention around here.
it's the new release from neon indian, aka alan palomo. it has a really excellent 80s throwback sound. a LOT of the tracks scream Prince to me, while none of them feel like too-direct rips: they have their own excellent unique hooks.
here's two tracks from the record that really show the Prince influence I think. great hooks, really catchy and well produced. the second one REALLY shows the Prince influence-- the weird modulation reminds me of Wonderful Ass a bit.

I just heard about this band and listened to their new CD earlier this week and Yes heavily influenced by Prince for sure The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

Yea, Prince, if you exclude all of his pop savvy. This shows how few fans actually listen to why Prince is important. It's not just the sound, the the way it is put together. All you others say Hell Yea!! | |

vocally reminiscent of Jesse Johnson's 1st solo album (and a little bit of Andre Cymone/various New Wave groups) open yo mind, the entire universe you'll find
