The Roots

Hey guys,

I'm going to see 'The Roots' in Brixton on Saturday. Their latest album was, in my opinon, their best yet.
Songs like 'Seed' blow me away everytime!

Can anyone tell me what to expect from the band live? On their lps they often have guest vocalists. Who do they use for their live stuff?

Anyone ssen them live?

Thanks in advance,
"London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

"YEAH!!!"

"Yeah, well then fuck those other fools!"

I saw "The Roots" in Stockholm,Sweden on march 20'th
& it was really great.I´ve seen them twice some years ago
but this was far the best 1.I also love the latest album.
The opening was fantastic when the DJ was spinning some
small clips of famous songs with anti-war messages
such as Donny Hathaway"What´s going on"(war is not the answer),Edwin Starr´s (War).
It almost blew the roof of.
There had been a big demonstration outside the venue earlier
so teh whole crowd screamed War...huh..what is it good for...absolutly nothing...also a small part from Prince´s "money don´t matter 2nite" was played.
The don´t have rhodes nowdays, they have 2 guitarplayers instead.1 of them did a song solo with guitar & another song acapella.
He had such a fantastic voice. He did the Cody Chesnutt part
on "the seed" as well as "U got me".
Questlove was at his all time best on this show.
Such energy the whole show thru.
U won´t B dissapointed I´m sure.

I saw the Roots live about 3 weeks ago at a taping of the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn. They performed a song from their album "Phrenology" and it was really good. They're very approachable and they interjected well with the audience. Someone in the audience yelled out, "THE ROOTS!" and Black Thought yelled back "The Audience!" (everyone started screaming). It was cool. You'll enjoy the show.
