Maybe it's me but I'm not impressed with most of the people she influenced.

Again, it's not whether or not you're impressed with who she influenced. That isn't what gets you into the Hall. What gets you in is the influence itself, not whether or not people are impressed with who you influenced. It's pop music, not Mozart. With that being said, she has influenced a slew of artists throughout several generations. [Edited 10/22/15 19:17pm] "Get up off that grey line"

The long posts of artists pics includes people she influenced that I dont find talented at all. Its just an observation. No where did I state that Janet does not belong in the hall of fame. I could care less.

none of the people she influence has a chance in hell of getting in the hall of fame thenselves. janet is a cool artist who put out good singles, great videos, can dance, looks good, and puts on a good show. however.. let not forget she is not that great of a vocalist and she did not wright agood portion of her music and lyrics, it was her ex husband. the only reason she would get is because she is michael sister.

Would Jam & Lewis make the Hall without Janet? I don't think so. They wouldn't get in with just material from Force MDs, SOS Band and Cherelle PRINCE: Always and Forever

Hits are not a criteria for getting in the museum. Percy Sledge had one really big hit (but not exactly a one hit wonder though) and he's in. A lot of the rock bands had few if any Top 40 hits like Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, etc. The Peter Gabriel era of Genesis only had one hit in the US and they were inducted, it wasn't just the more well known 1980s 3 man lineup. Huey Lewis & The News has more hits than all of those groups, so if that was the way to get in, Huey Lewis would be in. What does the people she influenced getting into the Rock Hall have to do with Janet? The Weeknd is influenced by Michael Jackson does that mean he'll get in? The quality of artistry from the artists Janet has influenced does not diminish her impact and imfluence. Every big artist including MJ, Madonna and Prince have shitty artists who they have influenced, but what does that have to do with them? You sound mad. And Janet has co-written the majority of her music and rather you think she wrote them or not is irrelevant. At the end of the day she owns the masters of all her music and gets royalty every time her music is sampled so there's that. And if Janet gets in because of who she is related to, I'm expecting a nom for Latoya and Rebbie as well since that's the only criteria for induction.

You have to be delusional to think they would even get a mention for the few hits they did for Patti Austin and New Edition. Their most notable and critically acclaimed work is with Janet. If it wasn't for Janet coming back, you wouldn't even be hearing their names right now. When was the last time they had any kinda press or success in the last 10 years prior to 2015? I'll wait.

But it's incomparable next to the success they garnered with Janet. I'm not taking anything away from them. They are geniuses. But one can't say they would be as legendary as they are today if they had not worked with Janet. And vice-versa.

Also, Jam and Lewis do their most eclectic and varied work with Janet. As much as I love their stuff with New Edition it's pretty much just r&b. With Janet they really stretch their sound with different genres. They bring the best out of each other and Janet is a big part of that because she wants to try different things. They're an awesome team.

This, I also think they bring the best out of Janet too. [Edited 10/24/15 16:55pm]

Janet is ahead on pretty much every other site that offers a fan voting poll, it's just that when those rock fans enlisted a bot to do their voting, they really got ahead. I'm just glad the Rock Hall put the kabosh on the cheating. "Get up off that grey line"

Vanilla Ice's To The Extreme sold around 15 million. Sales are not a criteria for getting in either.
