WOWWWWW I can not believe all these legendary artists are not in the Hall yet!?!? I always thought Kool in the Gang, EWF, P-Funk were in the hall.

Also, I don't think they should use fan votes. I think that is partially the reason why Green Day got inducted. I am not sure what criteria they are using when they induct acts or nominate them but it needs to be change. Its down right disrespectful that Barry White, Kool in the Gang, EWF, Spinners, WAR, Chaka, Chic, P-Funk are not in the hall yet!!! While a forgettable band like Green Day is! There criteria seriously needs to change and they need to get new voters on the commitee.

P-Funk and EWF are in. P-Funk got in same year as the J5. It's the Ohio Players, Kool & the Gang and the Commodores that are absent.

The Rock Hall is funkless besides JB, Sly, P-Funk and EWF.

If those fan votes are any indication,Chicago should get in very easily.

If they only plan to induct one Female Solo Artist in the 2015 class then Janet is likely to get in over Chaka. The Rock Board is all about Politics and they'll go with Janet because tickets to the Gala will sell well...Have they ever inducted 2 Black Female Solo Artists at the same time?

Although Janet is deserving, I think the RHOF is only nominating her because of her successful comeback. She more than likely will get in over Chaka. While they both deserve it, I personally think Chaka technically should get in before Janet but politics are never fair.

You know I'm voting for Chaka everyday, all day. I know the fans who are voting on the website are voting for Janet since she has a hot product out now but will those votes count as much as the committee votes? If the committee votes count more, I think Chaka will be inducted before Janet, and rightfully so. I know a lot of ya'll worship Janet and everything but, c'mon, she has had no where near the musical influence Chaka has had, not to mention Chaka's catalog is just ridiculously endless and she has recorded in just about every musical genre. When Gladys Knight was inducted, she was way past her prime, no where near the height of her popularity. Same with Tina. So, yeah, I think Chaka has an excellent chance of being inducted this time around.

But there are other black artists that paved the way for Janet that are not in the RHOF and I think Chaka is definitly one of them. Just like if it was a choice between Janet or Chic, I would say Chic should get in. There is a lot of Chic influences in her music...it makes sense they would get recognize first. It still doesn't change the fact that Janet deserves to get in too.

Wouldn't that be a joke, especially seeing as most of those performances are awesome. The musicians go above and beyond to perform well that evening. I predict she won't "perform" at all if she gets in.

there are only like 4 black solo female artists in the hall, so of course there has never been 2 in the same year.

Thank you!!! They are complaining about Janet but you got NWA with woman beater Dr.Dre in the mix! Where is the outrage in that. Janet has worked her ass off for everything she's got. They act like she ain't done sh*t in 30 years. If her critically acclaimed album helps her get in then so be it. [Edited 10/14/15 12:41pm]

she now has 7#1 albums, thats 3rd most of all females and the most for a black female artist, she is the only black artist and the 3rd artist period to have a #1 album in 4 calender decades, she still holds the record for the most consecutive top 10 songs as well as many others...if she dont deserve to be in the hall of fame i really dont get it.
