Not all of the modern songs are garbage. Gotye's Someone That I Used To Know is as good as any song from past decades.

Adele's Fire To The Rain is also a great song:

But good songs are few and far between. Whereas 30-40 years ago, you'd hear 9 good songs and one mediocre one, today you're lucky to hear 1 good song and 19 awful excuses for music.
