Always jam to this in the summer.

Michael Omartian never gets his props but he worked well with Jermaine. Omartian's key change at the end with those added backing vocals etc.. is flawless.

Shame the video is so dull though LOL.

A lot of folks don't know Jermaine wrote this along with Stevie Wonder. They worked welk together.

I am trying to think of their other collaborations besides "Let's Get Serious".

Stevie also produced some unreleased songs for the Jackson 5 and they sang backup on You Haven't Done Nothin'.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

There's also an indirect connection. Jermaine produced and duetted with Stevie's ex-wife Syreeta Wright. Both Jermaine & Stevie were on the Pops We Love You album too.

I love the duet Jermaine did with Syreeta on You Belong To Me from his Let Me Tickle Your Fancy album.

"I Think It's Love" reminds me a lot of that tune/rhythm.

Jermaine's early '80s production style at Motown was pretty Stevie-ish as well. And I really like the '83 album he produced for Syreeta (especially the cover of the J5's "To Know") - too bad it isn't on CD anywhere.

His Stevie like material worked much better than his late 70s hard funk attempts IMO.

I like both, but I do think '80 to '84 (Let's Get Serious to Jermaine Jackson/Dynamite) was definitely his strongest period from a production perspective. Nice bits of OTW influence in some of his stuff of that era, too.

I wouldn't call that OTW sound. More of a Jacksons sound as a whole, starting with Destiny.

Randy was on a few of those early 80s Jermaine albums also.

Also, we really don't know how much Jermaine had a part in crafting that Jacksons sound. While he was over at Motown he could have had some imput in demos and what not.

LOVE this track. It used to play all the time over the piped-in music when I worked at Toys 'R Us years ago.
