I was listening to this non-stop this weekend. My album of the year!

listening to the vinyl now. i like it real good so far. i like all of these musicians in all of the different bands they play in. except the chics, who i've never heard before this record. i'm not real fond of the black keys' last couple, but all of these daptone folk have been a listening staple for me for a couple of years. and local boy brian olive appears on vocals on one track. seems they've melded their sound with current black keys-ness rather organically and to nice effect. it's a nice new collective they're forming. i can't wait to hear more records from any of these fine music makers. i do kinda wish auerbach would go back to the basement a little more, though. he seems to over-polish for my taste in these sounds. but, yeah, great record.
