On 2nd October, 2015, Paul’s early ‘80s back-to-back classics Tug of War and Pipes of Peace will receive lavish multiple configuration reissue treatment including exclusive 2015 remixes of both the entire Tug of War album and the Pipes of Peace classic collaboration with Michael Jackson 'Say Say Say,' a treasure trove of previously unreleased tracks and never before seen video, and much more. . Released in 1982, Tug of War was Paul’s first album following the break-up of Wings and his third solo LP overall. Hailed upon its release as “exquisitely crafted” by The New York Times and a “masterpiece” by Rolling Stone, Tug of War went to #1 in no less than nine countries. Tug of War yielded such classic tracks as Paul’s #1 duet with Stevie Wonder 'Ebony and Ivory,' the top 10 single 'Take It Away,' and of course 'Here Today,' the conversation Paul never had with the late John Lennon that remains a staple of Paul’s live set to this day. Pipes of Peace, Paul’s fourth solo album, followed in 1983 and continued Paul’s early '80s run of platinum records. Singles from Pipes of Peace included the title track and of course Paul and Michael Jackson’s timeless 'Say Say Say,' a multi-format global chart-topping smash continually cited as a landmark of that or any year--as recently as 2007, Vibe magazine rated 'Say Say Say' as one of the greatest duets of all time. . Thanks for posting. Good stuff there. I really like the additional/alternative MJ vocals on 'Say Say Say'. Little gems hidden everywhere.

Not too bad. I'm sure MJ would like this video too:

Its neat to hear MJ with different vocals but I think they made the right choice BITD with the original arrangement. Cool post and idea, its great that an artist like Paul can start emptying out those vaults now. It seems to open up a whole new audience.

Remember there is only one destination and that place is U All of it. Everything. Is U.

Wasn't Michael Jackson on most of those duets? Isn't there a sticky for these pointless endless Jackson duets claptrap? Lock this thread! Has anyone tried unplugging the United States and plugging it back in?

Didn't Prince go to Hayvenhurst and hit on LaToya, was on stage with others who were singing We Are The World (and offered Quincy Jones a lollipop), played ping pong with Mike, appeared at the same 1985 B.B. King/James Brown concert with Mike, and talked to Mike during the History sessions? Mike went to a Prince concert in Vegas and Tito went to a Purple Rain concert. Morris Day remade Somebody's Watching Me and Jerome danced with Janet. Monte Moir wrote & produced The Pleasure Principle and Jesse Johnson produced some songs on Janet's Dream Street album. Jam & Lewis appeared on the Jackson brothers TV show A Family Dynasty. Lori "Diamond" Werner was in Mike's Blood On The Dance Floor video and went on tour with him. Muhammad Ali was friends with the Jackson family and Ali took a photo with Prince. Ali (or Cassius Clay) also took a picture with The Beatles. Stevie Wonder worked with the Jacksons and Prince played on So What The Fuss. Spike Lee directed videos for Mike & Prince. Shut down Prince's whole section (and the associate artists) and put it all in the Mike sticky. That would leave hardly anybody. Mike's connected to more people than Kevin Bacon. Even Metallica has performed Beat It, which would also eliminate Van Halen. Couldn't make a thread about the ET movie, the Grand Theft Auto video games, or Eminem (since his songs are in the ATV catalog along with many other acts). Couldn't make a Diff'rent Strokes thread as Gary Coleman has appeared on 2 shows with Janet (Good Times and Kim Fields was on both shows too). No Donald Trump, since they knew each other. Jay-Z & Mike have worked together. The J5 has been on the Johnny Carson show and other talk shows including Jimmy Fallon. A few of the US presidents have taken photos with Mike. There's been tribute albums in metal, bossa nova, Latin, and reggae. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
