^^I've always said that LaToya should have became a lawyer or doctor....anything but a singer! lol That video is unintentionally hilarious.

A Doctor or Lawyer???? She would have made a beautiful model. Latoya was pretty back in the day.

She certainly was nod

but what's wrong with being a doctor or lawyer? Those are respectable (and high-paying) careers smile

I don't get why people who have famous people in their family, always assume that they have talent too.LaToya never should have gone anywhere near a microphone, lol.

Lol! Nothing is wrong with being a Doctor or Lawyer. Everybody isn't smart enough to do those professions either.

So being part of music history, isn't good enough. So being rich and never having to worry about your family being fed isn't good enough.

Michael was the superstar in that family, Janet is okay enough, carved a niche and is very verstaile, but the Jackson 5 wouldnt exist or be known without the talent and starpower of Michael and that right there is enough to know why they don't have a grammy. Without Michael, they are only 'without Michael'.

They love to down play Janet's success and talent. I will always stand by the notion that Janet has it harder than her peers. Because she has to constantly prove to people that having the last name Jackson doesn't guarantee success...look at all the other Jacksons. Are any of them selling out Arena sized shows? Hell naw! But she is. All on her own. She's worked hard for every bit of success she's had. And people still don't want to give her credit for it.

okay lets drop the 'they' bs.

theres no doubt janet is a superstar. but janet cant freaking sing. just like madonna, they are both talented artists but lets not call them great voices because they aren't. janet had the infrastructure, money and connections that put her on a path since the day she was born. let's not act like she'd be where she is now, if she was janet nobody.

janet was MADE. i even own all her music and have been to her shows....i love her...but its a formulaic pop star trajectory. likewise the jackson 5 was MADE.

michaels talent was a gift from god that none of them could match or eclipse. michale would have been who he is if hed been born to wolves in the forest.

J5 was made? Lolllllo

So goes the narrative

If it wasn't for Tito precociously playung his father's guitar, J5 may not ever happened

That's my point about Michael.

Everyone's saying Michael would've been a star no matter what because of God given talent.

But Michael had no interest in being a performer!

Had Tito not plucked that guitar NONE of this would've happened.

Possibly Tito might've taken a go at it and who knows MIGHT had made something of it.

I love Janet as much as any of you but she owes EVERYTHING to her brothers.

Without them she's a non-entity.

I also agree with this.

Berry Gordy was moved by the charisma of little Michael and his dancing at the audition. He was in awe of all the talented Jackson boys but it was the charisma of Michael IMHO the reason why Berry signed them. All the Jacksons are talented but Michael's talent as you mentioned was a gift from God, it was not manufactured or package like the other Jacksons.

Manufactured, packaged?

How can someone be manufactured into playing bass and electric guitar

The future looks bleak

By the time this story gets recalibrated, the world wont even know Michael's last name is Jackson and that he was born in Gary, Ind

They gone conjure up a joint and yank it from the clouds

I guess Im thankful I was born during the time when this stuff went down in real time, at least there are the memories

History cant take that away

It sure has taken and distorted everything else

Thats an individual talent, that is not as an overall artist and pop package. I was not talking about a particular jackson member in saying that. With that being said, Michael talents plus his personality, appeal, IT factor, charisma was overall more unique compared to the other family members objectively.

Again, I am in no way saying the other family members were not talented but I be lying if I suggested they had the same level of talent, charisma and superstardom as Michael because they did not. Michael was unique and a rarity.

Jermaine, Marlon, Jackie, Tito, and Randy

they have never ever suggested that Michael wasnt the centerpiece and most talented member of the Jackson Five

that's not a debate, especially after Michael cracked the code w/Thriller

but history is being rewritten in a way that paints the picture that the brothers were stand bys on stage when the fact was J5 was the ultimate self contained unit on the scene, proof in that is the countless number of acts who patterned their presentation afer them,

The Osmonds, The Sylvers, Force MDs, New Edition, Troop, Five Star, Menudo, Boyz II Men, Backstreet Boys, N Sync, 98 degrees....we can go down the line

People have said consistently this entire time that the Jackson boys, even the girls in their own way were talented, not sure why you think they are being slated.
