Her and Paula Deen are gonna have fun.

It's a good idea.This is a great way for Chaka to keep herself in the spotlight.I just hope that all the attention she gets will pave the way for a new album from her.

If she does well on Dancing, it may actually get some folks in the industry interested in distributing the two albums that have been in limbo for so long. She's with a new management company who I was hoping would get her some more higher-profile gigs. Looks like they are finally doing something.

I hope Chaka loves it and has a good turn in health with all that activity. She is a gem. People will want that album after she shows her stuff, maybe they'll let her do a big singing number with that band.

I'm still wondering why she can't go the route that other acts have gone--setting up websites to sell on, releasing them in digital form via Itunes, etc., touring behind them...and so on. Other "older" and younger acts are doing it. Isn't there a better choice than letting the music remain in limbo? I guess she's still waiting for the right offer...but time is passing.

Chaka would have NEVER said yes to DWTS had she not talked to Patti...Patti was one of the main reasons Chaka agreed to do it...Trust that....Chaka can dance so she'll do fine and she'll have fun...Chaka & Patti are also Co-Headlining a One night only Concert @ the Los Angeles County Fair this Fall or maybe the Concert is this weekend, I'm not sure....

I don't think it's that easy. Anita Baker's album has been in limbo going on 4 years now. I would have thought she would have went the independent route by now but still no word on if the album she recorded on Blue Note will ever see the light of day. What other veteran R&B acts have released successful (or unsuccessful) albums on their own or thru itunes? I know Aretha did it a few years ago via distribution thru Walmart. The album flopped but she did get them to give her a million dollar advance before the album was released. Gladys knight is another who released an independent album last year that no one knew about.

..LOL..Do it ReRe..and we all know $1-Million dollars is like pennies to Wal-Mart....They are the richest retail chain on the freaking Planet...Kudos to ReRe's management team for getting that 7-figure advancemment..

Gladys Knight is not a dancer and she did DWTS. She's not known for dancing during her shows. The times I've seen Knight perform live, she just kind of stood there and did what she was supposed to do... SANG! Same with Patti. Although Patti moves around on stage more than Gladys, I don't call kicking your shoes off and rolling on the floor dancing. Now, one Soul Diva I would love to see on DWTS is Tina Turner. But, it will probably never happen.

Chaka has a super-talented and very patient Dance Instructor/Partner...Last season Keo Motsepe's partner was the Blonde Chick from the Hardees or Burger King 2015 Superbowl Commercial. She could care-less about rehearsing, the little time they had to rehearse she'd be on her Cell and you can only imagine how frustrated Keo was..The Chick was disrespectful...I'm sure he was glad when she went home early because he knew her heart was not in it..Keo is gonna Love working with Chaka because like Patti when it's time to "Entertain a Live crowd" Chaka is on-point..Learning a new Ballroom dance every week is very difficult, so I hope Chaka has fun with it...Chaka & Tamar will probably sing during the 2hr finale..
