I remember those old interviews with Donnie Simpson too! She was something else. Such a good time with her. Whether live on stage, interviews. She was full of life! She was the definition of vivacious. Had a little crush on her.

I was sold from the Sweet Sweet Love song/video. I heard the Chaka influence but didn't care then nor care now. She could blow.
= I feel you. There weren't many sexy thick fine women like her at the time. I have the 4U album on cassette and I converted it to CD. I got to look for her debut album.

Yeah, aside from her obvious voluptuousness, her candor on men/sex seemed like she would be one hell of a good time I loved it.

Ironically she fell prey to her label's politics and the success of my original fantasy, lil shawty named Damita

Didn't realize CeCe Peniston was even around back in '86. |

Regina as far as I know points to Phyllis as her biggest influence.
Regina also LOVES Nancy Wilson!
Yes, I know Regina adores Nancy and Nancy's influence has always shined thru Belle's music. Her reading of Wilson's "If I Could", IMHO, was superior to Nancy's.
Interesting note about Regina and Phyllis. Regina toured with Phyllis and Keith Washington in early 1995. I was going to get tickets to the Detroit show but something happened and I said I would have to catch Phyllis next time (DAMN!!!!). Anyway, Regina said in an interview she knew something wasn't right with Phyllis because she was spending her free time during the tour reading books about death. "It's not nice to fuck with K.B.!
