Have we had any starmaking performances in recent years? I'm talking performances that just propel artists into stardom like MJ's Motown 25 performance, Janet's 1987 Grammy performance, and though already stars at this point, Queen's Live Aid performance, and Prince's Halftime Show performance which cemented their legacies as some of the greatest acts in all of music.
Probably the closest we've had to those is Bruno's Halftime performance at last year's Super Bowl. Some may say Miley's performance at the VMA's in 2013 could be considered one (as I originally did)but it wasn't quite a starmaking performance as much as it was a memorable (for all the wrong reasons) publicity stunt.
When's the last time we've had a performances like those?

Those days are probably over. People have become addicted 2 FB, Selfies, Twitter, cellphones...............and other things it seems. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

The last one that sticks out was the Prince Beyonce duet at the grammys. Before that I would say Ricky Martin 1998 cup of life grammy performance, a pop star was born. Not a great song, but a great performance.

I'd say this performance made her a superstar:
