As a kid I have heard a lot of JJ Cale music, my dad played his records all the time. I loved it but since I left my parents' house 25 years ago I have not played or heard his music.

Recently I have rediscovered him and his music turns out to be as strong now as it was 40 years ago. That guy is amazing, his voice is unique and soothing, his guitar playing is simple and bluesy but absolutely divine. He should have been far more famous IMO, but he is mostly known because Clapton covered two of his songs ("After Midnight" and "Cocaine").
