I haven't been crazy about his latest effort, but I'm going to support him. A great and increasingly prolific talent. (3 albums since 2010 after an extended studio release hiatus . . .)

I've only heard around 3 tracks on the new album and only liked one "I Really Don't Care" but I'll continue to support him and buy the whole album. Bilal especially with his last two album always puts out something interesting, and very different from what he put out previously. I enjoy Maxwell and D'Angelo but Bilal seems the most productive and more adventurous musically and vocally . Hope he releases a new album and re-records "White Turns To Grey" I thinks that's his best ballad. Should be a single. (I rank it up there with Marvin Gaye's "Til Tomorrow" Prince's "Do Me Baby" "Adore" "Insatiable" D'Angelo's "Untitled" Maxwell's"Fortunate")

"I Really Don't Care" is the standout for me as well. We support Bilal for basically the same reasons.

Bilal is so different artistically from D and Maxwell, that direct comparisons can be hard (comparisons b/w D and Maxwell can be too, but that's another story).

I like his new album more than his last 2 efforts but all in all I definitely agree with what you said about him being creative and adventurous (oops Dangermouse said that...sorry). He surely isn't shy about taking risks which I can deeply respect and appreciate about him.
