Funkentelechy Someone started an appreciation for this song thread some years ago. I had been up listening to this last night with headphones and keying on Bootsy's bass. The lick he plays that really drives long stretches oF the jam. Well it dawned on me that I had heard this lick, or a slight variation on it somewhere before year's earlier. I racked my brain for hours....then it started to come into focus. JB, but which one? Perhaps one of the Godfather's funky divas Casper played behind early on, Mama Feelgood, maybe Marva Whitney? The track is There Was A Time (I Got To Move) from the Funk Power compilation. It's very subtle but you can pinpoint it. I just love it when I hear things like this.

That's the Motherload CD by James Brown, right? That was my very first CD! (Not my first album.) Anyway, I'll have to listen to both of them to find out if I hear it too.
