prince fans...how do you feel about his association with tidal?

What are your feelings about him releasing music exclusive to tidal? I would think as a veteran artist he would want to expose his new music to as many people as possible, is going the exclusive route a good or bad idea?

A lot of Prince fans don't seem to be happy about it looking at the reaction in the Prince forum. I would like his music on CD or vinyl still.

Bad idea..

Prince is very out of touch with today's music market and music listeners. Also, he is alienating his fanbase and potential new fans by putting his music exclusively on TIDAL (a very pricey streaming service). By doing this, it sends a messsage that is very off putting and not very nice. As a veteran artist, he should want his music to reach as many people as possible. You don't have to be popular in order to be "accessible." It is sad the new generation of music listeners will never get to fully appreciate Prince music. I think his younger fanbase could be much bigger if he exposed his music more on stream services, youtube etc. IMO, thats how a veteran artist legacy grows through the youth and current generation of listeners that listen to their music. His arrogance is hurting his legacy imo.

Prince's association with Tidal is not going to make me subcribe, and yes, I am a long time Prince fan.

His association with Tidal will be over in about a month biggrin Prince changes his mind so often and he rarely sticks to one plan. He'll continue to hop around, trying to find the perfect situation (the most lucrative deal for himself)....meanwhile,we continue to wait for the Purple Rain remaster, lol
