Timbaland took to Instagram to tease the release of previously unheard Aaliyah music.

The super-producer and longtime Aaliyah collaborator announced that he has songs in the vault, and will soon share them with the world.

“Attention!!!!! People ask me all the time do I have any babegirl music we haven’t heard !!!!!well the answer is YES!!!!!!!! TIMBO x BABEGIRL !!!!!” he said.

He intends to release a preview in the near future: “Sneak peak coming!!!!!!!”

Finallly pulling his Aaliyah card out huh? I figured he would go there once his solo albums weren't doing too much. I hope for his sake that he's gotten permission to use her music from her estate. Or is it technically her music being that it was never relased from a label? hmmm

From what I understand, Timbaland was owed money from Blackground so that is why he did only a couple cuts on Aaliyah's final album. That financial aspect became trivial after Aaliyah's death.

Blackground is good with her surviving family, and the family really wants Timbaland to present the unreleased music.

I don't think Timabaland can release any of their music together without the old label which paid for Aaliyah's vocals to be recorded.

Blackground was a shady deal, overall, the family has some issues of ownership and the usual fighting over rights etc..the uncle the brother etc... Im sure there are things unreleased but if you are going to release them, just release them as she recorded them!!!! I dont want fucking Drake dropping verses, i dont care that he has wet dreams about her now, or as a kid, or whatever token artist says they loved her, she didnt know them and they dont know her, get off her tracks.

Yeah, I don't want to hear remixes either.

I'm curious though it doesn't seem important what comes out after her death as when she was alive.

Is she standing or lying in that first post? I can't tell but love the outfit

I thought i was the only one who hates when they do that.If the artist didnt intend for you to be on their song dont jump on it when they are no longer here. Aaliyah didnt know Drake, so he shouldnt be on songs with her, if MJ wanted to record with timberlake he could have done it when he was alive, would justin have even gone near Mj during or post trial?

Thanks. Didn't know the family was supportive of his efforts. That changes everything.

I agree. I didnt like how the Estate featured Timberlake (of all people) on that song. mad It was cheesy and considering how he did Janet. The album was great but I personally love the originals better than the remix versions. Timberlake was also a fairweather friend towards MJ and refuse to utter him as an influence during the trial. mad Remixes for posthumous albums are okay imo if producers that actually worked with the singer for extended periods when they were alive are involved.

I think it had more to do with Timbaland being the remixer, so we SHOULD be concerned about posthumous Aaliyah being tampered with.
