Im into 70's and 80's music history, so when i hear a song like Cocomotion, i try to imagine what it was like in, lets say New York, at a Disco, when the DJ played this song. I bet the atmosphere was amazing.

I was only 14 when this music was in full swing and topping the Hot 100. LOVE the entire El Coco discography. In FACT, I've been soliciting BBR to consider remastering and reissuing their vinyl only releases! Good STUFF!!! Lush, orchestrated and deeply beautiful Dance Music! I love this type of disco music....the music is lush,dreamy and intoxicating.

Cerrone! Of COURSE!!! Same league. Very lush, very orchestral Disco that's both beautiful and obscure until NOW!

Thanks for the post. Yeah i really like those lush, orchestrated, disco songs. My parents used to listen to a lot of Barry White/Love Unlimited Orchestra, O'Jays, MSFB, The Spinners, etc, so once Disco became popular, it wasn't that hard for me to get into songs like Cocomotion. I was only 10 when Cocomotion was released(77) and didn't actually hear it until around 1980, though. Back then i only scratched the surface (in regard to disco groups and songs) and didn't really discover the somewhat more obscure groups and songs, until i got into Hip Hop( and tape trading). Through tape trading, i discovered all kinds of goodies.

Anyway I'm gonna check out that best of AVI Records comp.

Also, concerning Giorgio Moroder and Cerrone. Yep, I'm a fan of both of them. As a matter of fact, i was going to post some Cerrone instead of El Coco. I think Giorgio and Cerrone are both underated(in the USA) as early electronic and dance music, pioneers.
