Some of the links and images are fuct up because this article was created in 2015 and this site, y'know... . http://www.buzzfeed.com/mjs538/let-brandy-sing#.kaQ4Va3EP . The 17 Saddest Concerts EverBad ticket sales happen to good people. posted on Jul. 13, 2015, at 4:21 p.m.1. In 2013, Brandy played a concert in South Africa at an arena with 90,000 seats. Forty people were in the audience. Most of those people were probably maintenance workers.Gallo Images / Getty Images
Kabomo is a South African musician. He was there. He had “no words” for what he witnessed.Via bellanaija.com
2. Fifth Harmony once played a concert at a Sam’s Club shareholders meeting. Yes, like the bulk food store. This Vine says so much about how that went:3. In 2014, Carly Rae Jepsen held an event at a DavidsTea shop. Twenty people showed up. One was a fan. Nineteen were just random people. They had a goal to sell 30,000 cups of tea that day…5. This year, Ashanti was supposed to have a concert on the 4th of July. She told her fans her concert was canceled because the police said it was unsafe. *Maury Povich voice* That was a lie.Via idolator.com
The promoter chimed in on an Instagram thread and said it was because no one bought tickets.Via idolator.com
6. This is a picture taken five minutes before an Azealia Banks concert. She didn’t show up.
7. Nelly once played a concert in Iraq. It was pretty much empty. Most awkward version of “Hot in Herre” ever.13. Here’s a picture of a Fifth Harmony concert. It may be a soundcheck. Either way, it’s still funny:15. Lady Gaga had a show in Peru. She said 50,000 people showed up……this is what it looked like supposedly minutes before the show began.16. Here’s a video of Jewel singing “The Walmart Song” at a Walmart meeting or something. : /I don’t think anything further needs to be said.Have a good day!

I've played to way less people than that. Someone feel bad for me.

Sorry. Somehow i doubt that some of these concerts took place. Nobody expecting thousands to come to a show will do the show when only hundreds or less show up.

PatrickS77 that seems to be the exact state of affairs in a few of these situations. I've been in a few embarassing "crowds" in my day. Not gonna say who the worst offender was but it rhymes with Warren Fill.

I have huge respect for musicians who still give their best even when the crowd consists of a handful of people. I´ve witnessed that on several occasions, one of those occasions was a show that a good friend of mine and professional musician was invited to, and he acted like a true pro, giving his best. - One of the saddest concerts I ever saw was a Prince concert in Cologne, Germany a few years ago. It was still interesting to witness it because I never thought I´d see a bad Prince show, so as a fan, it was a memorable evening despite the lack of quality and bad planning and handling of the situation. In hindsight, I must admit that it could have been much, much worse and Prince still delivered, more or less. But he could´ve changed the whole atmosphere with a few nice gestures and some more songs, but he didn´t.

Missing Persons were pretty big back in the 80s. I saw them at the US Festival, new years eve in long beach n probably every gig they played at the amphitheater at magic mountain with Sparks n local gigs in Hollywood. A few years ago Dale and Warren played this shitty ass club called The Can Club locally here. It was embarrassing to watch n to see where she is now in her career. People threw food at her,she had no idea what the words were, she yelled "I used to make millions n just left. She's trying so hard to keep doing that music. I saw them again at The Viper Room n it wasn't any better. Warrens a guitar god though he's so badass. She's playing a place called The Gaslamp here in long beach in a few weeks. I'm dreading going but I know I'll go. [Edited 7/14/15 16:12pm]

Oh, don't get me started on that infamous Cologne concert...I was there, too!
To be honest, he rocked the house after that 1 hour break after playing one song, if only for another 60 minutes before getting shut down because of Cologne's curfew rules People were pissed...don't think Prince will ever come back to Cologne.
But Brandy playing to an empty stadium of only 40 people and not even the TV crew bothering to keep their cameras rolling...that's gotta be pretty cruel

Speaking of Brandy, it showed on my FB feed that she sang to very aloof NYC subway crowd recently. Takes courage to sing to a subway audience, regardless of the lukewarm reception she got lol
