Bobby Brown Appreciation Thread! Bobby Brown is so dope and he never really gets mentioned. In my opinion, he's the original Usher, Chris Brown and other solo male r&b/pop male artists to really sing and dance hard. He's a great dancer/entertainer and he had some great hits. Love me some B. Brown!

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Every track is great. True, I love the "Don't Be Cruel" album as it was my first album ever, however, don't sleep on the "Bobby" album. Cuts like "Get Away", That's the Way Love Is", "College Girl" and "Good Enough" are the BUSINESS!!!!! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Yes all the girls loved Bobby Brown back in the day. The Don't Be Cruel album had great r&b singles, he was the alternative to Michael Jackson if you wanted a bad boy.

Get away is the jam and i know Humping Around but that's it. It's a little more New Jack Swing right?

Naw, "Don't Be Cruel" was more NJS than the "Bobby" album....IMO "Bobby" had more dance grooves on it. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It wasnt until I was doing research for the NEW EDITON trailer I did when I realized just how HUGE he was at the time. He was right behind MJ AND PRINCE and MAYBE above TTD in terms of success in 88-90
I cant WAIT to do this movie!
(heres the link to the trailer i made if you havent seen it)

Right On! I'd check it out.. Unfortunately only bobby kinda interests me after the 80's .. and his story's been told to death at this point.. i'd really like a film that 'focused' on the early pre fame days.. maybe ending when bobby met whitney at the soul train awards. Nice though.
