Paul Anka & Odia Coates ~ (You're) Having My Baby You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

hehe, damn cheesy, but I always liked it. I think I first heard it as a "Long Distance Dedication" on Casey Kasems AT40 Vanglorious... this is protected by the red, the black, and the green. With a key... sissy!

This was a big hit. Here's another version You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Can't believe radio stations banned this song back in the day... Whoa, too hot to trot. Might corrupt those impressionable young 'uns! "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything." --Plato

Wasn't Puff The Magic Dragon banned too? But it later wound up being a cartoon. I remember several years ago,R.Kelly (with Robin Thicke) did a song called "Pregnant".I didn't listen to it,but I assumed it would be like this Paul Anka song....a man telling his lady that he's thrilled that they're having a baby and how much he loves her, etc.
Instead, the R. Kelly song has this chorus: "Girl, you make me wanna get you pregnant"
