When did Gary Numan become.........NIN? I really dig this. If I didn't know any better, I would thought this was 9 Inch Nails.

He was moving toward this in the later half of the 90s. 2000's Pure was the first one to fully embrace this sound (in my opinion). He's been expanding on the darker sound ever since. He's admittedly a big fan of Reznor's and credits Depeche's Songs Of Faith And Devotion as the catalyst for him moving towards the darker sound.

Right after NIN and Marilyn Manson started covering his songs. He probably saw a chance to update his sound in a similar manner.

Good stuff. "Pleasure Principle" is a great record too. Bowie did the same thing in the 90's with Trent.

The only song of Numan, (prior 2 my discovery this week of this material) that I've ever bothered 2 listen 2 was Cars from way back in the day. I had no idea. Good thing I decided 2 find some 'Cars' remixes or I'd still not know. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.
