[NEW INTERVIEW] Madonna thinks artists deep into their careers should stop if they don't have anything more to say. But at 56, the singer says she still has things to talk about, and in short, she feels like Pablo Picasso. "I like to compare myself to other kinds of artists like Picasso. He kept painting and painting until the day he died. Why? Because I guess he felt inspired to do so," she said. "Life inspired him, so he had to keep expressing himself, and that's how I feel." Madonna released her self-titled debut album in 1983, and her latest album, "Rebel Heart," earlier this year. She said the key to sticking around is her continual desire to inspire others. "I don't think there's a time, a date, an expiration date for being creative," she said. "I think you go until you don't have any more to say." The pop icon will launch her Rebel Heart Tour on Sept. 9 in Montreal. The tour includes more than 60 shows across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. "The theme I really truly explore in this show more than anything is love and romance," she said in a phone interview from her home in New York City last week. "I want people to walk out like they're feeling inspired and like they've seen something they've never seen before (and) felt something they've never felt before." Comedian Amy Schumer, whose new movie "Trainwreck" opened impressively at No. 2 with $30.2 million last weekend, will open for three Madonna shows in New York. "She's a role model for women, and I am too, and I think it's a good match," said Madonna, who added that the idea to bring Schumer on board came from the singer's management team. "I love her and ... I just thought, 'That's interesting.' (I'll) try something new and different rather than the usual run-of-the-mill — have a band, have a DJ. It's definitely a new thing. I hope it works — fingers crossed." Madonna says picking the set list for her upcoming tour has been hard, mainly because she wants to sing her newest songs but also satisfy her longtime, die-hard fans. "I realize I have 32 years of other songs, so I have to pick and choose. I sit there for weeks and weeks and weeks trying to figure out which of my old catalog I want to do," she said. "It's a puzzle that we have to put together 'cause thematically the songs — the old and the new — they have to go together; sonically they have to go together." She's even picky about the costumes onstage. "What people wear, from their footwear to the buttons on their jacket, is all very important to me," she said.

I agree Immaculate Collection is the perfect greatest hits by anyone. I was a hardcore Madonna fan through the 80s and into the 90s. I still love here, but her latest albums and songs are pretty naff. Thinking of her seeing her when plays in New Zealand next year. . Basically she had some great albums like all of them up to and including Bedtime Stories and Music. Not so crazy about Ray of Light, find it very slow and boring. Best albums are probably True Blue and Like a Prayer (With latter as best, as it was a transistion between poppy 80s songs on True Blue and deeper more meaningful stuff like Oh Father). Erotica is right up there too, that album has many hidden depths and I do not need to expalin the cult love for songs like Bad Girl, erotica, deeper and deeper and thief of hearts. . Yeah she is pretty much number 3 for me after Prince and Michael Jackson, total child of the 80s I am. Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

1. Holiday 2. Like A Virgin 3. Dress You Up 4. Love Don't Live Here Anymore 5. Into The Groove 6. True Blue 7. La Isla Bonita 8. Who's That Girl 9. Vogue 10. Justify My Love 11. Deeper & Deeper 12. Music 13. Between The Bars 14. Living For Love 15. Unapologetic Bitch 16. Bitch I'm Madonna 17. Holy Water 18. S.E.X 19. Iconic 20. Heartbreak City 21. Devil Pray 22. Body Shop 23. Ghost Town
I think she will add maybe 3 or 4 other songs, and the setlist will be complete

I like Iconic but to me it seems like something more suited to an Interlude than to perform live. I wonder which of those songs on the list would be interludes? I think Between the Bars may be an interlude.
What about Veni Vidi Vici. I feel that would be a great song to have on the set list either performed or as an interlude.
Did you notice that a lot of the song titles mentioned in Veni Vidi Vici are actually on the setlist?
Holiday, Into the Groove, Like A virgin, Vogue, Justify My Love, Music.

I have a feeling that "Veni Vidi Vici" will appear in the show, probably as in interlude.Whenever she does a song with a rapper, she always includes it in the show. She will have Nas film a segment featuring his lines.

Why do you think Beautiful Scars demo is considered in much more appreciation thant the album version. I have read that the album version is "cheap" and "dull" i do not understand why, i think it's great and moving. [Edited 7/30/15 6:29am]

According to News of Madonna, a French fan site, there is a Spanish Flamenco section where she is wearing that dress she posted on Instagram which will include:

I don't want her to do this. She's already done the latin/Spanish segment so many times,I think it's kinda boring now.I remember on the Sticky and Sweet tour, she did a segment like this and I didn't like it.

REBEL HEART TOUR SALES Madonna may not hit the road until September, but her Rebel Heart Tour continues to sell tickets at a feverish pace. In early July, tickets for her first tour in nearly 23 years went on sale in Australia, and most of the cheaper tickets sold out instantly, according to Forbes. The only seats that remain for Madonna’s six shows in Australia and two in New Zealand are the very expensive ones. The Rebel Heart Tour shows appears to be 90 to 95 percent sold out, even though the dates are seven months away. But Australia is not the only place where Madonna is selling very well. On Monday, tickets for Madonna’s first show in the Philippines went on sale. Despite ticket prices averaging $500 or more, the Rebel Heart Tour sold enough tickets for a second one to be added. In North America, Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour added secondary shows in the following cities due to high ticket demand: Montreal, New York City, Toronto, Edmonton, Miami, and San Juan. In Europe, she added shows in several markets, as well. The Rebel Heart Tour appears to be on its way to becoming another record-breaking tour for Madonna.
