I know that the Hip Hop/break dancing style is an Urban dance. So he has obviously had dancing lessons. Madonna knows it is important for him to know his urban roots to be more aware of his ethnic heritage.

ooooooooooooor he just said "mom, I wanna learn to break dance" and she said "Ok"...and there's no agenda behind it..but hey, it's just another theory

Great points, and very true, but I feel like Keith didn't really write this. I didn't see it on his official twitter page, anyway.

Let's face it; easier to look good at 56 when you ve got money to spend on the best plastic surgeon....! Madonna would break a barrier if she looked like a women who never had anything done at 56 and said 'Take me as I am'. Don't get me wrong; her dancing and training is of course hard labour, but saying we don't have to worry about ageism because of her... No, that's too much honour.

Does it really matter? The points are made: how come women have to get facelifts and not Keith Richards? Unfortunately, the double standard is still alive and well... neutral

You don´t know anything about this kid. How do you know if she is rasing him as an urban child? How do you know they think that's important?

exactly. in addition, david wasn't an 'urban child' to begin with. if memory serves, his father was a poor, rural african farmer who couldn't take care of him, hence, he was in an ophanage. he was plucked out of that situation by madonna who took him to live in the lap of luxury. therefore, there NEVER has been anything 'urban' about david richie's life. madonna knows nothing about 'urban' life other than what she's been able to glean from the outside looking in and expropriating what she believed was "hip" and "trendy" about it, and profiting from it. in spite of madonna's attempts to make her life out to be 'hard scrabble', her father was an engineer. there's nothing "urban" about that. if madonna were interested in david's heritage, wouldn't she be immersing him in AFRICAN culture, particularly malawian culture since that's where david's from?

Madonna takes him back to Malawi almost every year so she does keep him informed about his African heritage.

And I don't think Madonna has to raise him in urban culture, which I'm guessing you mean hip hop. Kids naturally today are into hip hop from their friends at school no matter what their parents try to introduce them musically. If anything his mom trying to make him like urban music, would drive him into the opposite direction knowing most kids.

madonna grew up in bay city, mi which is NOWHERE near detroit, and is overwhelmingly white. even if she had grown up near detroit in the early 60s, she would have lived in a predominately white neighborhood as detroit is/was one of the most segregated northern cities. long before the 1967 riot, whites had been fleeing to the 'burbs get away from the black core of the city. madonna would not not have known anything about "urban culture" first hand. as can be seen from her yearbook pics, she was fully immersed in her suburban life of being a cheerleader, etc.

She actually was born in a predominately African American neighborhood, but then before she went to middle and high school she moved to a more suburban white neighborhood in the suburbs. She talked about this in the Howard Stern interview. She said she felt she didn't fit in because her family had less money than all the other people in the neighborhood and felt more comfortable in a racially mixed area.

Except she didn't. Again, peep the yearbooks. I think she ESCAPED her upbringing to create a much more interesting, creative lifestyle for herself, studying dance and then moving to New York (which REALLY molded her).

I'm not going to keep going back & forth over this. Especially since I'm not that into her. Listen to her Howard Stern interview where she said it directly from her own mouth...

Madonna Returns to Hot 100 With 'B**** I'm Madonna'
By Gary Trust | June 25, 2015

Her Madgesty is back on the Billboard Hot 100.

Madonna's playfully self-celebratory "B**** I'm Madonna," featuring Nicki Minaj, debuts on the Hot 100 (dated July 4) at No. 84, powered most heavily by its 1,454 percent gain to 2.6 million U.S. streams in the week ending June 21, according to Nielsen Music. The song's official video premiered June 17 (first exclusively on Tidal for 24 hours) and includes cameos by Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Chris Rock, Kanye West and other stars.

The third single from Madonna's album Rebel Heart becomes the set's first Hot 100 hit, preventing the LP from becoming her first studio album not to generate a Hot 100 entry. Lead single "Living for Love" and follow-up "Ghosttown" both fell shy of the list. Still, both songs crowned the Dance Club Songs chart, with the latter becoming her 45th No. 1 on the survey and rewriting the record for the most leaders an artist has notched on any Billboard ranking. ("B****" debuts at No. 26 on Dance Club Songs this week.)

"B****" arrives as Madonna's 57th Hot 100 hit and first since "Give Me All Your Luvin' " (also featuring Minaj, as well as M.I.A.) became her record-extending 38th top 10 in 2012. The Beatles follow with 34 Hot 100 top 10s.

Among women, Madonna boasts the fourth-most charted Hot 100 titles dating to the ranking's 1958 launch. Here's an updated look at the top 10 women with the most visits to the Hot 100, with Madonna and Minaj both upping their counts by one this week:

73, Aretha Franklin
69, Taylor Swift
63, Nicki Minaj
57, Madonna
56, Dionne Warwick
53, Connie Francis
49, Rihanna
48, Brenda Lee
47, Mariah Carey
43, Miley Cyrus

Madonna also joins an exclusive club of artists that have charted Hot 100 hits whose titles include their own names. Prince, for instance, reached No. 36 in 1992 with "My Name Is Prince." Honorable mentions for Eminem, whose debut entry "My Name Is" also rose to No. 36, in 1999, and whose "The Real Slim Shady" soared to No. 4 in 2000.

Plus, three other iconic acts charted self-referential titles, although not due to their lyrics: "The Beach Boys' Medley" surfed to No. 12 in 1981; "The Beatles' Movie Medley" reached the same rank, in 1982; and, Elvis Presley's "The Elvis Medley" reached No. 71, also in 1982.

Speaking of the Beatles, they charted the only composition prior to Madonna's latest with "Madonna" in its title: their classic "Lady Madonna" peaked at No. 4 in 1968. (Later that year, Fats Domino's cover spent two weeks at No. 100.)

Madonna played the Twin Cities for her MDNA tour. It was the first time she'd been back since "Who's That Girl"! Anyway, in a review of St. Paul's MDNA show, published in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, the journalist made note of Madonna's "witch hands." I don't see these agism type comments applied to reviews of Tom Petty, Prince, or Bono - and that's a good thing; just wish they wouldn't be applied to female artists, either.

Really starting to wonder if I should waste $200 to see her next year. There's a big fuss on her first concert in New Zealand next March. Judgiung by her recent flops and this shit, New Zealand is living up to its reputation as a great place for washed up singers to perform.

.

Lets hops she only plays songs from 1983 to 1995 and none of this new shit.

Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

I respect her for knowing and respecting her body enough to stay out of direct sunlight at her age - the feedback on her hands alone she is going to need to take strong efforts to maintain her appearance. She used to always rock the sun, all those morning runs on Miami Beach. Its been damn near ten years since I've seen her out and about exposing her skin to the natural light without a hat, glasses, gloves, coat etc.

Do they count the same song twice? Like if "Super Bass" fell off the Hot 100 then re-entered it, would that count as two separate hits? Because there is NO WAY Nicki Minaj has had more singles/releases than Madonna.

I can't believe Nicki Minaj has had 63 hits, I would like to know the names of them. Same with Tayla Swift, I mena epic WTF!

Do they count the same song twice? Like if "Super Bass" fell off the Hot 100 then re-entered it, would that count as two separate hits? Because there is NO WAY Nicki Minaj has had more singles/releases than Madonna.

I think it's because album tracks chart. That never used to happen! But since every song can be purcahsed separately, they can chart separately. Billboard charts are crap. The methodology changes constantly yet people still try and compare chart statistics.

All the buzz and all those stars in the video and it has only 11 million views. confused

Local Serbian stars reach 30 million in a few days, and Serbia has only 7 million people.

.

Could you provide some examples, other than the Eurovision stuff?
