I was a tad let down that she didn't perform but I didn't feel cheated though. Things happen all the time, perhaps she was scheduled to perform but for other reasons unknown to the public, it just didn't happen and the best choice was for her to not perform. She hasn't been the first honoree to not perform either....wasn't it the BET Awards when Prince was honored but didn't perform a few years back? Sure, it would had been the highlight of the show if she would had performed but its not the end of the world either. She'll more than make up for it when she goes on tour. I was just thankful to have seen her show up, period.

Oh I felt cheated. I haven't watched the EBT Awards since that tragic ass 2009 "tribute" for Michael, so the ONLY and I do mean the ONLY reason I watched was because of the Janet Jackson would perform talk.

janet was never listed as a performer. fans took it upon themselves to confirm a performance and when it didnt happen they feel let down, i wasnt anticipating a performance because i took janet's advice and only believe what comes directly from her camp.

I didnt think she was going to perform either but when I saw her back up dancers dancing to her new song "No Sleeep" it gave off the impression that Janet was going to perform which is why I think some people felt "cheated." It could be what Missfee said that maybe she was schedule to perform but for some reason couldn't do it in the end.

GORGEOUS.

I knew she wasn't performing when Terrence J corrected himself on the red carpet, saying that she was accepting only. As it was, CiCi, Tinashe and Derulo did an awesome job. I knew that Ciara would kill it. I loved all the love Janet was getting from everyone. From the red carpet all the way through to the aftershow, her name was the one on everyone's lips. Oh, loved Smokey too .

It's a perfect summertime groove, and it's rare when you hear a song and everyone's opinion of the record within the building is ultra-positive. That, coupled with the fact that she's an icon that we all grew up with, made it a no-brainer for us.

"We're happy to be a small contributor to her success with ['Sleeep'], and it's exciting to have her back in the mix."

The single arrived on June 22, a week after Jackson announced her Unbreakable World Tour, which is slated to kick off in Vancouver, B.C. on Aug. 31, with the first leg of North American dates planned through Nov. 13.

On the heels of her stunning appearance Sunday at the 2015 BET Awards, the 49-year-old legend announced on Tuesday that she's also coming out with her own diamond jewelry line called the Janet Jackson Unbreakable Diamonds collection. Janet actually debuted the collection at the BET Awards, where she wore a heart-shaped necklace made with twenty-five carats of Fancy Intense Yellow diamonds (retailing at $2 million) as well as a thirteen carat Fancy Intense Yellow diamond ring (retailing at $500K).

i love how she is just quietly doing things on her terms and letting it be about the music. i was surprised to see mainstream publications like cosmo and vanity fair as well as more alternative sources like spin and pitchfork list 'no sleeep' as their best new song of the week.
