For those of you who did not watch the Oscars last night (me included!)... Eminem won the Oscar for Best Original Song. Another case of history repeating itself (to the likes of Prince in case you're not following along! )

Eminem's movie vaguely resembles Purple Rain with a struggling young talent facing tough life decisions. Performance sequences and final audience approval also remind me the PR finale.

Congrats Em! Hopefully you'll still be around in 20 years too

Practically every film ever with a pop star or whatever is about that particular person trying to make it big

obviously the Oscars are headed to the same place as the Grammies...pieces of straight down the

eminem deserved that one. not to big a fan of the man, but this is a great song. i expected u2 to win; thank god they didn't.

I was also thrilled U2 did not win. I'm glad Em won...I'm not a huge fan but it's a good song (imagine Em kissing Babs on the cheek while accepting his award had he been there LOL)...my perosnal favorite among the noms was Caetano Veloso/Lila Downs "Burn It Blue" from FRIDA...I loved their performance (CV did look a little nervous) and the burning bed image was a nice touch...

It just goes to show you the Oscars are not as uptight as you think
