I've heard that the Marvin movies were not made because Motown did not approve his music to be used. So one of them is based on the Midnight Love era, and that was on Columbia. Tammi's most well known songs were with Marvin. You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B.
