I saw 1 hour and DVR'd the rest. I love Mariah, but it was not her night. Just Music-No Categories-Enjoy It!

I honestly didn't think it was so bad. Her worst is better than J Lo, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown and a host of others best.

She was off. But I give her kudos for somewhat singing live. She gets a D. The only one worse was Kanye West: F Ed Sheeran: A Tori Kelly: A That group that sand with Faith Hill: B+ Faith Hill: C. Was she ill? Britney and Iggy: C- Nicki Minaj: C- Van Halen: B because of a struggling David Lee Roth. Simple Minds: B+ Pit Bull and Chris Brown: C Taylor Swift's video: A-

I was going to complain but decided against it to truly evaluate the worth of the Billboard Awards for what they are: the music industry kissing its own ass. As irrelevant as music award shows have become, none are literally more so than the Billboard Awards so no sense in making a fuss over who won an obvious popularity contest when it was quite clear who would win.
That said, hip hop was represented very, very poorly last night. 2014 was a very weak year for the genre and the selection of nominees and the winners definitely exemplified how barren mainstream hip hop was in 2014 by having Iggy take home the gold for Top Rap Song and worse still, Top Rap Artist (surprised Drake didn't win). However, I'm pleasantly surprised that Cole won Top Rap Album so while, considering the award, it means very little, it's nice to see someone of Cole's caliber with a good album like 2014 Forest Hills Drive get a nod of recognition. Taylor cleaning house like she did was without doubt or thrill. I know Beyonce didn't really set the charts on fire last year but it was nice to see Pharrell win over her for Top R&B Album and Top R&B Artist although him winning the former attests to the sheer destitution of R&B last year. GIRL was at worst, the second best album out of all the nominees (behind Xscape which would not have made the other nominees look good at all had it won) but on its own is at best, a subpar release. Great show, many great performances. My favorite was Imagine Dragons rendition of Ben E. Kings "Stand By Me". R&B is my favorite genre. I watched the performace again on You Tube and posted it on my FaceBook wall. I am not familiar with this group, I am a fan now! The other performances that I liked were: Mariah Carey, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, The Empire Cast, Nikki Minaj. I could not really see Kanyes performance with all the fireworks, etc. He must have been cursing because they kept cutting him off for most of the song. That was disappointing. I wanted to hear the whole song with the explicit lyrics. In my opinion, I did not like the song Britney and Iggy sang. The dancing was ok.

Considering i dislike most of the ones that performed and their music pretty much to me is just computer generated tracks, there is nothing exciting now, sorry, I just cant get all CRAZY over a Kanye performance or Taylor Swift etc...when they are just average artists.
Props to Simple Minds but that was the token oldie performers to make Billboard save some face.
Britney and Iggy whatever Mariah whatever at this point she was always boring live and now she is more boring

I found it all pretty boring except for Tori Kelly, Ed Sheeran and that cool Taylor Swift thing at the beginning. I was excited for Kanye but we all know how that turned out.

Am I crazy for actually enjoying Kanye's performance? It was the most artistic thing in the entire program. At least he tried to do something interesting. Maybe it didn't wotk but it kept me engaged and look how many people are talking about it. The guy is a genius.

I just do not endorse that message. Not a good performance by any stretch of the imagination.

Nearly all of it was censored. I didn't even know what was going on.

Having 70% of your performance bleeped because you couldn't find a way to do it yourself (especially when you are clever enough to do so in a creative way) isn't something to be praised about. Was the "performance" interesting? Maybe but that doesn't mean it was good.

I can't bring myself 2 watch this stuff anymore. That list of guests was laughable. FOOLS multiply when WISE Men & Women are silent.

Come on, wasn't it better than some of the other acts??

I can't even believe people are still watching The Billboard awards...I can't even remember the last time I watched The MTV Awards...Maybe Award shows should announce the winners online and just mail the Award to the Artist..

Prince should have performed. Another missed opportunity. Could have promoted Plectrum Electrum Reloaded. Ah well.

> Yeah they're just something I haven't outgrown. The VMA's I hardly watch though. It depends on the guests. But I'm all over The AMA's, Billboard and my two faves The Grammy's and The BET Awards.
