Ice Cube- I Wanna Kill Sam. Cube was one of the realest rappers ever. I much prefer him over Tupac and biggie! this song is a fine example. Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

Was? He still writes some deep lyrics every now and then. Plus he´s a great live act. I saw him a couple of years ago and he really surprised me with an energetic, heartfelt live show with no frills. I ´ve been a big fan since day one (I listened to him back in the mid 80s when he was still part of the Stereo Cru and C.I.A) but he kind of lost me around the time Wicked came out (1993?) . - The only song that made me scratch my head a bit is Black Korea. How do you, as an Asian-American, feel about that song and its lyrics? - I still like Cube. I wonder what happened to his "Everythang´s Corrupt" album that was scheduled for 2014. He´s a great storyteller , too. A Bird in the Hand or My Summer Vacation or Dead Homies are good examples of that. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

My all-time fav rapper. From NWA through his first few solo joints. Delivery, intensity, attitude, groove - the full package. If you've got funk, you've got style.

....so how does everyone feel about his acting? I saw Anaconda, and couldn't believe that it's the same guy who made Death Certificate.
Obviously, Hollywood came around with enough on the table. They didn't want stuff that incendiary to get out to listeners.

I think that´s the problem with most rappers-turned-actors....they either try to look cool or mean, use a bit of jive talk and are just used for little roles while they´re still kind of hot or, if they´re lucky, become huge stars like Will Smith. While real actors of African-American origin don´t get to play in huge blockbusters or have to wait many years. As far as Ice Cube goes, I like his movies. He did alright in Boyz N Tha Hood, which probably wasn´t that difficult for him, and I like his comedies like Friday or Barbershop. I´m perfectly fine with rappers trying to establish a second career, especially in this day and age where music can no longer pay your rent or put bread on the table. But still, I am concerned about studios mainly casting the current rapper of the year or athletes instead of real actors. You don´t see that many rock stars trying to become actors. I am also very happy for Ice-T. Cube and Ice are such eloquent, smart and hardworking people, and they deserve to be where they´re at, and do whatever as long as they are successful and happy. People are still complaining about some of Cube´s lame movies or Ice playing a cop, but hey, why not? Can´t expect them to be all gangsta for eternity. Besides, Ice Cube has always been pretty smart and multi-talented, just like Ice-T, so more power to them.
