I think we've all seen enough of Beyonce, Miley, Katy, and Kanye to last a lifetime, not to mention Madonna.........nothing new here.

I agree. Madonna has always done things for shock value but imo with this album she looked really desperate and her alliance with the current stars of today comes off as a "try hard". IMO, although she is having fun, an artist of her calibar shouldn't have to do that but then again....this is Madonna. She has been doing this kind of thing for decades and is going to do what she wants regardless. razz

this album!!!! I can't believe how much I have put that thing on repeat. I find it more addicting than almost any Madonna album ever (and I have most of them).

But let me explain to you ageist detractors out there: maybe it's because I'm old. And being "old" (above 40) should disqualify all of us (OH WAIT NO, ONLY WOMEN) from making, speaking about, or enjoying music. In fact, why don't you just take us out and shoot us? We're good for nothing. We are not living up to the standards or qualifications of how an old woman should behave: no fun, no music, no performing, no sex appeal, no cool clothes, and no career. Thank you for setting out the rules so clearly. Now we shall follow YOUR lead on how to behave correctly.

So me being an old woman, you can just ignore everything I have said.

I'm an over 40 female, too. I own all Madonna's stuff. I ALMOST didn't purchase "Rebel Heart," as I was terribly disappointed by "MDNA" (and about 80% of "Hard Candy"). I purchased RH this weekend and am so happy I did. I really like it. Yes, it's uneven, but so is "Bedtime Stories." I think RH is easily her best since "Confessions."

COAD is in my opinion so overrated, haven´t listende the new album but Living For Love and Devil Pray are very good songs, GhostTown, good lyrics but the music, it sounds so much like a Katy Perry ballad or Beyonce or Taylor so teen- ish sound.

I think COAD is very overrated, too. I like a mere three songs from the album. But compared to her releases since then, its listening value has increased ever so slightly, which isn't saying much. Hard Candy has maybe two good songs. And I really hated MDNA. Ugh. Which is why I was presently surprised by how much I enjoyed listening to at least half of Rebel Heart.
