I'm not. And maybe the comparison was unnecessary but I was making a point. Janet without a doubt stands on her own but it seems that no matter what there's always going to be people that say Mike was the reason she had a career or criticize her for the things that people let Madonna get away with. That's just the truth; I like all 3 of these artists and appreciate the impact they have on music that still holds up stronger than ever today but people will never give Janet a fair shake for one stupid, biased reason or another. I was just wondering aloud how would people react if they had no choice but to acknowledge her talent and clout.

That post was not really directed toward you specifically actually. Just more so making an observation from what I have notice lately in these Janet threads. I always see Madonna bashed harshly in these Janet threads and Michael is often brought up. Janet is underrated for sure and I can understand some of the Janet fans frustration with that. However, I don't think its productive to constantly bash Madonna and Michael in these threads when it not their fault she is underrated.
some ofthe things people say are just stupid. why would janet release an album in 2015 for money? firsrt of all she's rich as hell in her own right, 2nd. her husband is rich as hell, 3rd. who makes money from selling music these day. certain fanbases are seething just because she's making new music, i dont get it. madonna's fans were happyabout her new album, mj fans were happy when they released that xcape album, but janet fans cant be excited for new music after 7 years? the only people mentioning sales are fans of those other artists.i like that she made the announcement on her social media pages for her fans, all the news outlets picked up on it,she didnt go to them.
But no one from those other fan bases are bashing Janet and from the most part from what I have seen MJ fans are happy for her. So I dont get where you feel sales are being brought up.

here is a typical janet-related post....(insert janet album) is my favorite album, i think its damn near perfect.

And I actually see the opposite.... I always see Janet fans bashing MJ and his children for whatever reason on other sites and forums. MJ fans didn't like the whole granny gate fiasco Janet was a part of.... but your statement in this thread was in reference to her new album. And as far as what I have read on forums/social media, most MJ fans are happy Janet is coming out with a new album.

That is a TOTAL lie! Mj fans here have COMPLETELY torn Janet apart to shreads. They NEVER give Janet credit at all for her MEGA success!! Have called her a no talent, whispery, vocal Mj riding coattail artist. Which is further than the truth. This thread has been the most tame I've EVER read on here EVER about Janet.

it's because old school threads like Madonna, MJ, Janet and Mariah Carey tend to blow up..........and meanwhile nobody seems to be listening to anything new or current
