There are now 2 BLACKstreets out there With all this turmoil between Teddy Riley and Chauncey "Black" Hannibal, there are now 2 versions of BLACKstreet out there now! One is fronted by Teddy and David Hollister and the other by Chauncey with Levi Little, Eric Williams and Mark Middleton. I'd like to hear your opinion on what's been going on in the BLACKstreet camp.

So BOTH groups can sing their 1 hit? Fun times. Both can do the 1 hit without the male rapper or the female rapper. Then the song without Janet and the rappers. Then the Debarge hack song. Pretty short set list. . I agree with Graycap, BLACKstreet to me means Teddy Riley.

I think it's sad when group members can't get along and there are two different versions of the group on the road. It's the fans who get a raw deal.

I prefer Guy myself but if you think there is tension between all 25 in and out members of Blackstreet, there is really bad blood between Teddy and the Hall brothers. While Teddy is the brainchild of Blackstreet he doesn't sing lead on any of their popular ballads or the majority of the songs which is part of the problem with him and some of the ex members. I remember Mark Middleton mentioning Teddy wanting the Lions share of the money when they tour and the other guys who lent their lent their voices on lead just wasn't having it. Don't laugh at my funk

Teddy is an egomaniac that's why he couldn't keep either of these groups together.

You can probably catch both playing at the same casino. "Janet Jackson is like an 80s sitcom that's been off the air for over 25 years; you see a rerun and realize it wasn't that great..."

Is Teddy the bandleader though? Maybe he's getting two incomes, group member and band leader? PRINCE: Always and Forever

Here's a quick history of BLACKstreet from the Teddy Riley special in 1999.
NOTE: Despite what the narrator says at the beginning, the group was formed in 1991, while Teddy was working on Bobby Brown's 3rd album, "Bobby".

One group should call themselves "BlackerStreet" Katie Kinisky: "So What Are The Latest Dances, Nell?"
Nell Carter: "Anything The Black Folks did Last Year"
