Wanted to start a thread to discuss his three solo releases, Angel Down, Kicking & Screaming and Give 'Em Hell.

Angel Down seems to be very popular on this board, which is unsurprising seeing as it features three songs with Axl on vocals. My favourites on his debut are the badass title track, the gorgeous By Your Side, Stuck Inside and You Bring Me Down (which sounds really Sabbath-esque to me).

Kicking & Screaming was a half good album but featured way too many filler tracks. The good ones are Tunnelvision, One Good Reason (awesome riffing and soloing on this one), Dirty Power, I'm Alive, Kicking & Screaming, Dream Forever and My Own Worst Enemy. The other songs are pretty bad imo. Although they came up with some good stuff, I'm glad Nick Sterling didn't stick around after this one.

Give Em Hell to me is Bach's most complete album. It has a much more metal-vibe compared to K&S and it really suits Baz. Musically, it kind of reminds me of 80s Ozzy fronted by Bach. Push Away is probably the best song he's ever recorded (either solo or with Skid Row). And there's some really cool metal riffs on songs like the standout All My Friends Are Dead and Harmony. There isn't really a bad song on this album.

Only really know his stuff with Skid Row, but they were a rocking band back in the day! Slave To The Grind is a certified metal classic!

Weirdly enough, I read in a recent interview that Bach would be up for it, but the guys from Skid Row (especially Rachel Bolan) really hate Bach and won't have him back.

But I agree with you, they need him more than he needs them. They're last Bach lookalike singer left the band a few months ago and Tony Harnell has joined the group. They recently released a 2015 version of 18 & Life with the new singer, much to the dismay of many fans of the original band.

I like Angel down quite a bit actually. His other two albums i don't fuck with as much. Bach's personality has really made me grow tired of him & Skid Row for years. But Their first 3 albums are still classics..

i saw him perform some of the Angel Down album before it came out while he opened for Guns N Roses in 2006, i like that album, would love a reunion be the band don't want it. i saw the original line up a few times back in the day.

Hmm. Well. Tony Harnell is not that faceless and certainly a step up from Johnny Solinger. Skid Row was one of my favourite bands. After Sebastian was kicked out I totally lost interest in the band, until late '13, when I saw them on a co-headlining tour with Ugly Kid Joe. Whilst Johnny Slinger is no Sebastian Bach, Skid Row is definitely Skid Row. The music was the there and when the crowd has a party and sings along, who cares about the singer? Last year I saw them again, Skid Row and Sebastian Bach, exactly a week apart and to me Skid Row were the winners. Really looking forward to seeing them with Tony Harnell. The re-recorded version of 18 & Life sounds promising.

The only Sebastian album I really got into was Angel Down. Some great songs there, You don't understand, Love is a bitch slap, By your side, Falling into you, Stuck inside...

Didn't quite warm up to the other albums.

But you guys should really check out his Frameshift collaboration though. Great album. I killed you, an amazing song.

and all the above bands were in their prime having released the best albums i was 15 in 89
