I never thought I'd see the day when a talentless no hoper like Phil Collins was discussed on the org.

The man is an awful balladeer, simply cringeworthy. There are far better 80s artists/tracks to give as track of the day than this dirge.

I hadn't heard this song in years and discovered the joys of Kazaa over the weekend. This was one of the first songs I downloaded. It brought me to tears. I think it is so beautiful, especially the live version.

Sorry, I have to jump in with the "it's cheesy" crowd. I used to like Phil Collins when I was younger, and I still enjoy some of his earlier solo work, but this was about the time when he started really going downhill. A song to fall asleep to, for sure.

If you want a really good Phil Collins ballad, try his first two solo albums...

ya'll hater dont know what ya missin...this song here is a classic that got a lot of play on r&b stations believe it or not lol... i love playin this on guitar and keyboards cause its just beautiful when u check out how he put this all 2gether... phil collins is more than a balladeer and 4 proof of that just check out the drums of easy lover with phillip bailey his work with genesis and the work he did on eric clapton's behind the sun and august albums...

One of the Baddest Programmers back in the day.His Voice was Cool for the time period but in all Honesty Phil was a Hot-Shot Artist who followed the Ray Parker Jr. Pop-Valley of Jacking Top 40 in a Pre-Cursor To Puffy Kind of way&Making Hits with it.aside from His Hits& a few Other Songs I hardly listen to Him much anymore at all.He is also a One-Man Band but He got Bland by the end of the 90's til now IMHO.He was Cool in the 80's for a minute then got Corny in a Hurry to me."Missed Again" from 82 though still is my Phil Collins Jam!

Genesis were great when Peter Gabriel was the main influence - a bit 70s prog-rock for many but ok in my book. When PG left and PC took over the mike things took a dowbhill turn. As PCs influence gained a hold it became more and more difficult to tell the difference between a PC solo album and a Genesis album. Witness 'Tonight Tonight Tonight' - again a dire ballad that no self respecting Genesis album should have contained.

I agree with jtgillia, if you must listen to some Phil Collins then take a listen to the 1st solo album which reflects on the break up of his first marriage. Then you might (?) just find some music to appreciate.

I love Phil Collins older stuff. As well as Genesis..."That's All and "No Son Of Mine" comes to mind immediately. Plus, I love "Against All Odds". This jam is nice as well.

I use to get a flak from my friends for likinq Phil Collins back in the day. He's a very talented musician. I haven't followed him in years though.
