For all the dancers out there: what style is James Brown?

I've been trying to figure it out for a while now. What kind of dancing style would James Brown be classified as? Funk style? Proto-hip hop? Someone with more knowledge please help me out. lol

free2bfreeda

james brown's dance style.

cool

Funkity funk on the one,

mr soul would turn and scream

his feet did natural slides

he would do super moves.

his body became his heartbeat

his soul would vibrate for all to see

he shamelessly gave to all

because he could

and so he did

>

JB reacted to the horny horns

to the funky bass he thumped his feet

he would glide across the stage floor

as he danced to rapid rhythmic syncopated refrains

james grooved to the collective musical beats.

to the drums he writhed his body freely

to the guitar leads his sweated a grin

>

the free guitar licks gave james freedom

it was a starfilled joy unmatched in his time

the keybaords dictated which foot did the slide thing

or which foot would lead the camel walk

he watched the crowd's hand clapping

while we all stared in head noddin awe

James heard his bold heart rhythms

he danced to the beats

from the top of his cerebellum

to the soles of his feet

james brown was a funkityfunkman

that was the style of the man

with the free moving body and feet.

just sayin

nod

To simplify things you can call it:

'The Origin of today's 'Street Dance' styles'..
