That Metal Show returns

Geddy Lee episode

.

Rush's Geddy Lee Walks Down Memory Lane on VH1 Classic's 'That Metal Show'

By Christa Titus | February 20, 2015

Geddy Lee on That Metal Show.

That Metal Show is kicking off its 14th season on Saturday with a visit from none other than Rush's Geddy Lee.

.
The iconic bassist/vocalist/keyboardist, who last appeared on the program during its inaugural season in 2008, sits down with host Eddie Trunk and co-hosts Jim Florentine and Don Jamieson to discuss such topics as the R40 Live 40th Anniversary Tour (which launches May 8 and will hit 34 North American cities) and his favorite Rush albums (Moving Pictures is closest to his heart).

.
The episode also features Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci making his debut by performing intro and outro music for the commercial breaks. He joins the panel to debate which Rush live album is superior (All the World's a Stage is pitted against Exit … Stage Left) and also interviews Lee during a new online post-show segment called The After Show that contains additional footage from the episode.

.
That Metal Show airs on VH1 Classic. This season's guest roster will include such new faces as The Iron Maidens, Nita Strauss (Alice Cooper) and Damon Johnson (Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders) and returning performers like John 5 (John 5 Trio/Rob Zombie) and Alex Skolnick (Testament).

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Nice! It doesn't actually say when it's on, but I'll keep an eye out for new eps now that I know it's back.

Oh shit, Dave Lombardo? That one could be interesting. Thanks again for this info. I was out of the country for a bit, but I plan on watching all of them now that I have some free time.

isn't that the show where three random jaded guys prentended that they knew it all-had the absolute truth about heavy-metal?

As a rock/metal fan, I do enjoy this show. And I've met Eddie Trunk many times in the past..very nice and down to earth guy. But the only thing that gets me about this show is their extreme (looking at Florentine and Jamieson) ongoing hatred for hip hop. I understand that it's a hard rock/heavy metal show, but the swipes at Jay Z, Beyonce, Rhianna, Love And Hip-Hop, etc...I mean it's like c'mon already..enough. We get that you hate the artists and music...move on. I was really surprised when they had DMC on there just recently. And I know they have had MaCalpine, Living Colour, Tom Morello, Dug as guests...but I wish they would cool it with the hip hop attacks.
