NEW YORK, March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The list of Madonna concert dates for her highly anticipated 35-city 'Rebel Heart' Tourwere officially announced today by Live Nation with the opening night scheduled for August 29 in Miami, Florida. Additional performances to follow include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Vancouver, Montreal and several other cities including San Juan, Puerto Rico. Following the North American leg of the 'Rebel Heart' Tour, Madonna will begin the UK/European series of dates on November 4 in Koln, Germany with stops in major cities including Barcelona, London, Paris and Glasgow amongst others. Madonna set to tour Australia

Madonna is set to tour Australia for the first time in 23 years.

The pop icon is set to launch her Rebel Heart world tour in Miami in late August before bringing it Down Under early next year, US music bible Billboard reports today.

“In early 2016, Madonna will take Rebel Heart to Asia and Australia, with those dates expected to be announced by the end of March,” Billboard said.

The 56-year-old last toured Australia with The Girlie Show in 1993 and has not returned despite promising to bring her critically acclaimed stage shows back in 2006, 2009 and 2012.

Her return visit to Australia will also see her fans get up close and personal with the star for the first time as Madonna is playing arenas rather than stadiums.

“She has never played in Southeast Asia, and she hasn't been in Australia or New Zealand in probably 25 years," Live Nation's Global Touring division chairman Arthur Fogel told Billboard.

"It's kind of bizarre when you think about it, that a superstar like that hasn't been to a pretty regular touring area for 25 years."

The tour will be Madonna’s fifth partnership with Live Nation's Global Touring division, which has produced more than $1 billion in Boxscore grosses, with 7.8 million tickets sold to 289 shows. She is the top female touring artist in the world.

The trek is in support of her latest album Rebel Heart, which is released in Australia on Friday and features the lead single Living for Love.

She seems to really mix up the smaller US cities she comes to each tour. I remeber local radio djs being disappointed about her not coming to Portland for her Drowned World tour and don't believe she's been here on any subsequent tours either.

Looks like she's back in San Jose this time.

I've only heard rumours of three nights in London so far, its not been officially confirmed. And it does seem weird she'd do three nights there and only one in some of the other really big cities....and the other two dates I've heard for London would make it a real busy December for her...

I wish she would do an "in the round" performance,with the stage in the center of the arena.I guess it would be difficult to have the video screens,though.Her shows rely heavily on video screens.

I've seen her three times now, for each of her last three tours, and have always said I would always pay to see her thereafter.... but now I am starting to regret saying that. Maybe I am just getting too old for the bullshit of concerts (crappy DJs opening for her, waiting until 10:00 or 10:30 for her to finally come out on stage, the drunk bastards who can't control themselves during a concert, tiny seats, obnoxious people who have their seats right next to you, parking fees, concert security who act like they are protecting the Pentagon, etc.).

I sure hope this tour will make it to video... as I may have to sit this one out.

There's gaps in the US dates where she can additional shows at the same venue. I'm sure she will add an additional night at the Verizon Center in DC. She always does 2 shows here and more nights at MSG in NYC.

Good don't go. Better chance of me getting a closer seat! I have no idea why when people post about about a tour, someone needs to announce they don't want to go. You sound like a miserable person who can't enjoy a fun night out. When I'm too old to enjoy live concerts, I'll be dead. Live shows are my biggest pleasure in life and Madonna is my all time favorite live artist.

You can get a decent seat in the mid-price range ($100).The cool thing about SAP Center is,all the seats are basically good seats.You'll have a good view even if you're in the upper level.
