After you bring the house down at the Academy Awards, what do you do for an encore? Land a starring role in a buzzed-about TV show, that's what.

Variety reports that Lady Gaga will star in the upcoming fifth season of FX's American Horror Story. While Gaga has done some acting in the past, this will serve as the singer's first big TV role.

Show creator Ryan Murphy has revealed that there have already been clues about the upcoming season's theme, scattered throughout the fourth season, Freak Show.

Gaga herself confirmed the news by tweeting, "Make your reservation now. #GagaAHSHotel." She also posted a video in which she says, "American Horror Story Season Five. Hotel," revealing the title of the new season.

Season 5 will premiere this fall.

Season one (Murder House) ranks as my favorite. I watched the finale of Freak Show on fast forward to minimize my disappointment.

Is anyone surprised yet?

Freakshow had it's moments but just fizzled out. The first season is still the best by far, I liked Coven. To to this day I've no idea what the alien element in Asylum was all about. Might have to give it a watch again.

I agree - I liked the first season best too. But what about Dylan McDermott crying over the stove and masturbating? I still scratch my head at that.

I've only seen season one, apparently I'm not missing much after that? Season 3 seems interesting though.

I love AHS but Freak Show was beyond dark.....so much killing....just unecessary killing. It was soooooooo heavy with kill kill kill and some of the story got lost. Ma Petite death was not received well by me AT ALL and the strong woman.BUT Jessica Lange is one bad ass actress.....and that chic got a set of legs on her at 65.I'm insterested to see what Gaga can do but they are already toting she is filling Jessica's shoes...I don't think that is a good look for Gaga....that's like saying Miguel filling Prince's shoes you just know that mofo couldn't maneuver in dem heels let alone FILL 'em. I hope she does well in whatever role she portrays, I'm likeing this new Stefani good for her.

They killed off Jessica Lang?! She won't be back next season?! Then, neither will I...
